I tried a few different paste really didn't do anything for me best thing to do is a laptop cooling pad. I have this pad Cooler Master NotePal ErgoStand Basic Laptop Cooler Model R9-NBS-4UBK - Newegg.com removed the metal mesh and temps are a lot better.

Hey Svl7 have you looked into the vbios update for the 750m? Tried using -4 -5 -6 on nvflash still get the same error. Thanks again for all the hard work.

Just tried to flash my 750m ultrabay and I keep getting this error any ideas this was on the newest nvflash on windows.. If I go thought dos I get error a newer version of nvflash is required. I just used the Lenovo_Y500-Y400_-_Mod_[v2.04] (including update for 2.02 & 2.03 users).zip used my original 2.02.bin booted to dos updated to 2.04 also Both my 750m are modded didnt have to flash again..

Updated worked with ez but its showing 2.04 for bios verison and the ec verison showing 2.02 is thats normal right? Thanks again

On notebook review they say 2.04 is unlocked already guess its bull huh?

You can overclock there is about 5 threads on how to do it.. The new nvidia 320 drivers work fine on the 750m..

Anything new with the 2.03 bios?

Really wish there was a way to turn on the fans to 100% that dust removal program that lenovo has for power management would be great if you can turn it on only for gaming... Ok know someone can help me I looked over the guide over and over I finally got my bios backup its around 4,608kb named Biosback.bin, Anyway I am having trouble with the Y500biosfix, I am logged into windows right click Y500biosfix I type in Biosback.bin then it ask for the Modified bios file where do I get that I have y500 2.02 firmware installed.

How you going to mod the heatpipe there is no room for anything? I was trying to adding extra copper heatsinks but no go .

I used Prolimatech pro-pk1-5g pk-1 thermal paste no break in time needed , I using msi afterburner on screen and hwinfoI to monitor never seen throttlestop the main gpu and cpu never go over 81c.. The only problem is the ultrabay on skyrim for example both gpu's will be at 95-98% with 135+ and 400+ oc thats when I get 98c but at stock it will never go over 88c. So today was playing planetside 2 gpus run at 68-98% played for 3 hours and main gpu 79c cpu 78-81 and ultrabay gpu 88c wasnt even running the cooling pad fan.[h=1][/h]

When I got my new y500 played with windows 8 for a hour even with shell and other tweaks it sucked only good if touch screen was a option, I installed windows 7 haven't seen any problems.

Nope before the temps hit 98c and with the repaste with better thermal paste still the same 98c when +135 on core and 400+ on memory.
