  1. I would recommend one of the Asus Zenbooks for build quality, design and performance. You may pay a bit more initially but it is definitely worth it in the long run.
  2. I think one of the problems with standard cooling pads are that they can ensure better circulation around the laptop, making sure the air going in is relatively cool but they don't actually increase the airflow within the laptop. Hard to tell how effective this product is in practice but were it to boost the airflow I'm sure you would notice a temperature reduction.
  3. I actually have a similar set up to you right now, same mouse and similar DPI but I've found the G500 simply too heavy (even with weights removed) and cumbersome. I've recently purchased a razer abyssus which is a basic gaming mouse with no extra buttons and very light.
  4. I have a HP 8540w that overheats and auto shuts down unless I have it on my Coolermaster U2, the one with two removeable fans. If you plan to bring your cooler around with you, its realy handy as the laptop fits into the stand and takes up no extra space in your bag. Its not exactly a high performance cooler but simply elevating the laptop off the table is quite a big help.
  5. I've had both on laptops and to be honest, I can't figure out which works best for me. On the one hand glossy appears to have high contrast but all the reflection can be very annoying. In a bright environment having matte at least allows you to see the screen but suffers from low contrast.
