  1. hey mate, on techpowerup bios collection you can find 017- 019-021-022 vbioses for dell 7970m cards but i dont know if you can go back to previous versions if you flash with 022 or 021 (dunno if it's reversible, never tried), hope it helps... - - - Updated - - - hey mate, on techpowerup bios collection you can find 017- 019-021-022 vbioses for dell 7970m cards but i dont know if you can go back to previous versions if you flash with 022 or 021 (dunno if it's reversible, never tried), hope it helps... - - - Updated - - - hey mate, on techpowerup bios collection you can find 017- 019-021-022 vbioses for dell 7970m cards but i dont know if you can go back to previous versions if you flash with 022 or 021 (dunno if it's reversible, never tried), hope it helps... - - - Updated - - - hey mate, on techpowerup bios collection you can find 017- 019-021-022 vbioses for dell 7970m cards but i dont know if you can go back to previous versions if you flash with 022 or 021 (dunno if it's reversible, never tried), hope it helps...
  2. i'm having issues (my card works only at 300/150mhz, unable to run at 3d mode 850/1200 causing crashes and artifacts) with my dell 7970m 0.17 vbios and i'd like to try also 021 and 022 bios versions but i was afraid not to revert it to 017, so it seems possible...true?
  3. Hi Xonar and everybody, i've upgraded my gx660 laptop with 7970m but it seems not to work correctly. Flashing the unlocked bios at page 1 (MSI16F1unlocked) could someway increase stability? do i need to set manually any particular option for pci ex or similar? thx for your replies...
  4. thanks bro, i'm writing also in gx660 thread at NBR forums, Meaker is there but still no useful answers....
  5. hi svl7, many congrats for your work with vbios pack, i've flashed my dell 7970m with your default one included in it and finally i had my card working at least in 2d mode without artifacts. Now the problem is that, no matter what catalyst version is use, the card works only at 300/150mhz@0,900v and seems not able to increase it's frequencies and voltage to 3d mode (850/1200@1,050v). I dont understand if it's an hardware failure or something related with vbios or software. Would be great to try a modified vbios which increases 2d voltage to 1,05v (i know it will make the card work hotter), in order to fix the voltage at that level, hoping to raise the frequencies automatically (now the card doesnt throttle, simply crash the system with bsod when attemps to raise from 2d mode). I tried also your overvoltage vbioses but they all increase voltage only for 3d performance state (as is obvious, since the aim is to reach the highest freq!!) so the dont solve my issue.....i need something with 2d mode 300/150 @ 1,00
  6. it sounds very interesting, can you post a link so i can try? What do you mean for OSD driver? do you mean vga drivers or a specific one for lcd panel?
  7. hi mates, looking at this thread i've read about a strange issue with 7970m: i'm running this card in a msi gx660 laptop, chipset pm55, cpu i7 840qm, 8gb ddr3. The card (dell type, bios 15.017)installs properly the drivers and everything seems perfect but it works only in 2d mode! Frequencies are stuck to 300/150 @ 0,900v and in this way can also run msi kombustor stress test for hours (reaching max 42°C, due to low performance state). AC power is connected to a working dell 180w psu but to be sure i've tried also a 240w psu and the original 150w...nothing changes. Vga can't switch 3d frequencies at 850/1200 @ 1,050v, no matter if i've changed every catalyst since 12.8 to latest one, no matter if i've flashed different vbioses from svl7 collection pack.... Win 7 64bit fresh installation. Is this vga card damaged someway? need some suggestions from you, boys!
