  1. I'd not be surprised if the "5ms" IPS panels show high Grey to Grey numbers, that's just how IPS works naturally... Watched some YouTube videos on that topic, and the general consensus was that only ridiculously expensive few external IPS panels come with "closer" to TN response times +G2G times, but if real low response times are important to you and don't need perfect colour representation for graphical content creation, a TN panel is the way to go. Therefore, I'd love the 1440p to be TN unless the colours are as hideous as in my x7200 panel. @D2ultima

  2. I received the Thunder3 model at 6PM local time. Here it is modded and working at 10PM (including meal time). - Created 8 pins wires coming from barrel plug (4x 12v, 4x GROUND). - Drilled a 110mm hole. - Fixed a 120mm fan protection.

  4. I agree on viewing angles, but more so for privacy. I also agree on 60hz except for 4K as it is still evolving and video cards can barely keep up... Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

  5. INFO: First pics of a AKiTIO Thunder3 DIY eGPU @benjaminlsr presents the first eGPU build with a AKiTiO Thunder3 at https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/10280-intel-nuc6i7kyk-gtx106032gbps-tb3-akitio-thunder3/&do=findComment&comment=149495 quoted below. Thank you Looks to have the same chassis as the AKiTiO Thunder2 with some slight cosmetic differences and of course a TB3 internal board. I would expect the same AKiTiO Thunder2 power and chassis mods can be applied here.

  6. Thanks for the update! Can you run comparative benchmarks between your Thunder2+1060 vs your Thunder3+1060? Interested to know if Thunderbolt3 makes a difference.

  7. I know it's don't work now. Saying "i have got access to..." i mean IF there will be progress with compatibility of NVIDIA cards - i have got one for test and confirm it. Now it's dead end, but why don't be prepare? =) Modded BIOS for Lenovo Y500 by svl7 is v2.04. My official by Lenovo, which i am currently useing, also v2.04. There is no anything more new. So, i think i am good at this point. Try to look for so called "Mail Forward Service" in Europe, USA and maybe in UK. Your may pay this company, they will sent money to gerald on ebay, he will ship adapter to them and they will re-ship it to your. Chain is long, but it's better then nothing.

  8. Hey, I don't have closeup photos of those steps. 4\ Those are not mine but I somehow followed the same process (except I used three thick yellow/back wires) and used 600v isolation tape between wires and pcb. /!\ Make sure your soldering points don't touch the casing /!\ 5\ You'll have to dismantle properly each pin from a PCIe 6pin connector. Use some heat shrink tube to isolate each pin from the casing on top of the GPU (as shown here).
