  1. Based upon svl7's work. This has stock overclocked BIOS (memory only) and/or overvolted out of the box. Check the pictures for proof. Integrated GT-650M Ultrabay GT-650M My maximum overclock (150MHz higher compared to stock voltage) Features Correctly reported clocks in overclocking software like nvidia inspector: 790mhz instead of 835mhz. See GT650M versions. GT650M (Manual Overclocking) These mods are meant to be used with Nvidia Inspector, EVGA Precision X, MSI Afterburner. Use these if you want to overclock yourself. Credits given to svl7 for letting me use his mods as a base. stock 1.1v stock - memory 2500MHz 1.1v - memory 2500MHz GT650M ECO (Auto Overclocking) This mod features Kepler Boost, and throttles when power is not needed. These are overclocked by themselves. (You do not need Nvidia Inspector, EVGA OC Scanner X or MSI Afterburner). Voltage is also dynamically increased or decreased. Don't worry, they are rock stable. These mods are not based on svl7's work (except the unlocked BIOS menu's) Credits given to schranzmaster for pointing out how to increase GT650M core clocks in the VBIOS. Voltage at 790MHz is 1.025v and raises up to 1.1v at 1GHz. I did not touch voltages. This is simply how Kepler works. 1GHz Core - 2500MHz Memory eco_v202_650m_1000C_1250M.zip KNOWN ISSUES/LIMITATIONS All limitations have been beaten, thank you everyone for your help. For now I do not support the 750M yet.. My GT650M vbios mods also have the correct clocks reported at 790mhz instead of 835mhz @svl7: if you want you can merge my thread with yours if you feel the need for this. Flashing instructions: http://forum.techinferno.com/lenovo-ibm/2874-lenovo-y400-y500-unlocked-bios-wlan-whitelist-mod.html I do not give support regarding flashing the BIOS. If you want to flash this BIOS and you have questions regarding flashing ask in the thread I mentioned above and look for instructions there. There are all the tools you need. The BIOS and vBIOS are tested by me. At request of a user, a buy me a beer link: Feel free to buy me a beer here. A part of the donation also goes to svl7, because without him there wouldn't be the base I worked with. v202_1100mv.zip v202_1100mv_mem.zip v202_stock.zip v202_stock_mem.zip gt650m_ultrabay_v2.zip

  2. Kepler is no Ivy Bridge. And it's not because Ivy can handle 130C that kepler can. There is a reason throttle temperature is 70C on kepler. Or it is some silly way to prevent overclocking. To have their 700 series sell. Have you tried booting in safe mode? And try going to device manager. Try the same thing in normal mode. See if the GPU is still there. If it is it could also be that a circuit is burnt because of the cpu running too hot. I think the images have to pass through the iGPU from Intel if that is the case. It could be simply bad luck. All laptops i had overheated and throttled like hell. I would even compile Android on them for hours on 100C and play games at the same time. Voltage doesn't kill necesarily. By the way lenovo has a diagnostic utility on their website. It might verify what component is causing the problem. It says its for thinkpads only but it works on ideapads as well

  3. It is possible to convert a GPT into a MBR using a hex editor. GPT spec originally called for also having an MBR, but they ended up intentionally making the MBR's partition table invalid for some reason. In theory both GPT and MBR can be operable, but GPT no longer worked for me when I did this on a toshiba. Keep in mind that if you make a mistake that windows recovery is completely incapable of fixing a corrupt MBR or GPT, despite having multiple boot recovery programs. Luckily when I made my mistake (wrote in a partition size backwards) I had an old version of partition magic lying around on a CD that let me directly edit the MBR to fix it. Now I can run my assembly files on that laptop prior to loading windows I find GPT to be a PITA since it vastly complicates booting from a flash drive. If you don't have a drive >2TB there is no reason to use it. PM me if you want the procedure. Remember if you mess up, there's a good chance you'll have to reformat, especially if you do not have partition table editing software. Doing all the math for LBA sizes is very tedious. I'd try to exhaust other options first before resorting to this.

  4. The only difference between the ones with memtag and the ones without is that they have their memory always overclocked or nor. Both can overclock equally.

  5. If the file name contains the 'mem' tag or '2500mem' or something similar that means the memory is overclocked. The ones without dont have overclocked memory. Watch out though with ocing. At 1100mhz core and 2500 memory im already using 150w from the wall at peak moments with my i5- 3210m running prime 95 at the same time. Most of the time i sit around 110-120 w

  9. I ordered a TP-LINK - TL-WDR4900 has •is optimized for high-performance wireless router dwupasmowym for very high speed transmission. Thanks to the simultaneous transmission of speed 450Mb/s in 5 GHz band interference-free transmission and speed of 450Mb/sec in 2.4 GHz band traditional users get a 900 MB/s maximum aggregate bandwidth for demanding applications or Home Office. 450Mb/s throughput in the 2.4 GHz band can be used for less demanding applications, such as browsing the Internet or email, and 450Mb/sec in the 5 GHz band to more delay-sensitive tasks, such as streaming HD video or online gaming. If you prefer to use wired connection, this is five Gigabit Ethernet ports and NAT hardware speeds of over 900 MB/s will provide instant, without delay, and with 2 USB 2.0 ports, designed to share USB drives, printers, FTP server and media server, the router provides users with the ability to use fast, multimedia home network. •High speed-a smooth media transmissions Dual-band wireless network-450Mb/sec in the 5 GHz + 450Mb/sec in 2.4 GHz TL-WDR4900 wireless networks 2 separate broadcasts in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network operating in the 2.4 GHz band can be disturbed by your neighbors as well as devices such as stoves ovens, cordless phones, etc. In the 5 GHz band there are 23 non overlapping channels is 8 times more than in the traditional onsite parking 2.4 GHz. The possibility of simultaneous transmission in both bands provides you with the ability to use twice, dedicated bandwidth. •Hyper-wired connection-5 Gigabit Ethernet ports Thanks Gigabit WAN port and four Gigabit LAN ports wired connection speed is up to 10 times greater than with traditional Ethernet connections. TL-WDR4900 has enough power to maintain a stable network with transmission speeds instant. •NAT-hardware bandwidth to 900 MB/s Thanks to the built-in Gigabit Ethernet switch and hardware to use NAT router TL-WDR4900 provides very high data transfer performance. The bandwidth between the WAN and the LAN is over 900 MB/s, which allows users to use the full potential of their Internet connections in the home network. •High computing power-processor duo to 800 MHz Powerful processor for high performance 500 MHz double-pumped data processing which allows rapid handling of all functions of the router. To reduce the load on the central processor and ensure stable also has separate settings that support wireless transmission in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Separate hardware NAT system provides faster, address translation WAN-LAN throughput achieved is up to 900 MB/s. •3 external antenna and 3 internal Three external antennas for 5 GHz band and acting 5dBi gain 3 internal antennas operating in the 2.4 GHz band to provide a larger transmission range. 10. Project 1 The back panel Some time ago some one over the NBR forum had an idea to improve the cooling on the alienware M17 by creating a custom back pannel. I decided to give it a try the goal is improve the size of the air intake and the airflow across the laptop so i though about it that way if i put someting directly over the fan and a hudge air intake just beside it should force the air to cycle inside the laptop. click on the pictures to get a bigger version so we start with this And this is the fan positionings (note that pic is not from my m17 i found it on the web and it was faster to use it then take a picture of mine after i was done with the mod and wanned to game) so the idea is to build something like that (ya ugly i know my picture manipulation skills are VERRY lacking) Material used this mesh use a cuting tool in my case a dremel 4000 with a flex shaft and the metal cutting wheel cut the shape in the mesh after that cut the shape of the air intake in the back pannel (that's water on my back paneli had to clean it cause cutting through a sort of plastic/rubber makes an anoying powder that stick and "burn" your finger) once done assemble both part and ajust the mesh to be sure it fit with mounting holes and other stuf then glue all part together and enjoy. i also covered the original grills that where just over the fans Project 2 a preview of what is comming The pcb you see has been custom designed by me for that project my projects are posted faster over there Granyte and cie but i'll end up posting them here anyway i have quite some modifications plans for that laptop so what do you guys think?
