  1. NVIDIA Geforce 306.97 WHQL Changelog: Download link: Nvidia Geforce 306.97WHQL (Recommended driver for Windows 8 launch!) (M18X-R1 Clevo GTX680m ini files from 306.23 driver provided by @Brian should work, because my GTX660m ini file provided by @svl7 G73JwGTX660m thread works)

  2. Thanks for the clarification. Well, for some reason it works flawlessly now, really fast, etc. tbh, I re-arranged it to the above but was never able to test (had to go to class), I just stated the issues I had before I re-arranged it. Glad to see it was this easy of a fix. I think I will stick with this instead of trying to perform the DSDT method. My DSDT file is chock full of errors, and even with various guides I cannot find how to fix them, Setup 1.x is good enough for me! I'll stick around and hope to help others (hopefully), thanks for your help nando.

  3. That's why it's called "blind flash" your screen is black, so you need to do it with a black screen. boot from your usb drive and type in the ati commands. is that really your fourth post about the same issue? O.o

  5. for the M17x newcomers like myself, this post by The_MOO has most of what you need to know in one place How to overclock the M15x,M17x GPU and the M17x CPU You also want to read the vbios flashing guide by svl7 http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/2166-%5Bguide%5D-nvidia-vbios-flashing.html and then go find the right vbios itself. again, thanks to svl7 http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/1847-nvidia-kepler-vbios-mods-overclocking-editions-modified-clocks-voltage-tweaks.html

  7. Well if the 17x-R2 had issues with 5870s which required a vbios update by Dell I would say it's safe to assume that the same problem would arise with the 6970s but without the possibility of dell issuing a new vbios. Why are you guys thinking it's physical damage? Sounds to me like the same problem as before..

  8. @x2pinpoint: to enable unofficial overclocking, close MSI afterburner, go to your MSI afterburner install path and open MSIAfterburner.cfg. Scroll down to the end of the file. There you will find the following: [ATIADLHAL] UnofficialOverclockingEULA = UnofficialOverclockingMode = 0 AccessibilityCheckingPeriod = 0 change it to the following: [ATIADLHAL] UnofficialOverclockingEULA = 1 UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1 AccessibilityCheckingPeriod = 0 start afterburner again, agree the popup and you'll be able to set clocks. Have fun!
