  1. Hello everyone, After about 100 hours, extensive fine tuning, benchmarking, re-testing, system crashes (and a possible re-installation of Windows 7), I have finally made a guide that can offer much assistance to overclocking/overvolting as well as reproducible results. Free File Sharing Made Simple - MediaFire That is the folder I saved the document in. There may be more revisions to come. Maybe even another laptop, will see if any of the students in this campus has an Alienware Here is the latest revision, stored in this site: Alienware Overclocking Guide [rev 2].pdf Note: This guide can be used on any laptop given there is the unlocked BIOS for it, the procedures will be the same, the numbers will not. Might want to ask svl7 if you are not overclocking an m14x Raymosrunerx PS: To make life a lot easier, please download the latest revision, I already saw some major errors and pointers I left out in the first revision. I was too eager to post this.

  2. Hey Everyone, I saw a thread a few minutes ago about trolls also in the Off-topic section, and I stumbled upon a dashing photo of Stam. It inspired me to make this thread, where we can collectively post pictures of what we do (anything from skiing -cough- svl7 -cough- to skateboarding, to being goofy, to tech stuff, etc. Basically anything you have an interest in and feel like sharing. They do not have to have a ton of meaning to them, and they can even be somewhat abstract. The aim is to just post a few pictures here and there of what we do in our lives , sort of like a melting pot. **BONUS INTERNETZ FOR ADORABLE PETS** I'll get a few up this coming weekend / week off , but for now here are a couple i had on a USB that are pretty old.

  3. Hello all, It's been a while since I've been on here; I've been working hard writing a step-by-step manual on how to overclock/overvolt the RAM, GPU, and CPU. However, while writing the guide, I realized that EVGA Precision is not overclocking my GPU. I try and set the clock rates, but it is not applying, when it use to. Thanks!

  5. If you game then I would go with the video card. I have the 2670 CPU and am totally fine with it. There is also the depot department of dell that sells refurb m17x.

  7. Leo I'm going to recommend this then. Download all files from Dell directly and use their drivers for the 460m instead of NVIDIA this time. Make sure you have uninstalled the NVIDIA driver completely and use a registry cleaner if you can to make sure old entries aren't causing you more errors. If it's easy enough download "driver sweeper" I think guru3d.com hosts it. That software will dig through all files and registry and allow you to delete them... do this before installing the latest Dell driver. In driversweeper you select NVIDIA and hit analyze if it shows anything hit clean and let system restart. To be extra sure I go to device manager and under display adapters should read vga adapter if it says 460m hit uninstall and check the box which says delete the driver too... Again restart. Get Dells official drivers installed and got ahead and see if bsod is recurring and especially if you can launch games now. If you still get bsod and games won't launch then even the "who crashed" said it was not hardware but driver related... If by following the above steps you have same issue then I also recommend as Brian that you call Dell and have them take responsibility for this matter. Hopefully its resolved... One other thing are you using any software's which interact with the graphics card. If you use HWinfo if it's not properly set in its configuration options it is very easy to have issues like this especially with older versions or latest version not set right for your hardware. That is just a guess if you don't use hwinfo then disregard if you do make sure you have it configured right I'll add a link to this post of a all in one guide/review I wrote of hwinfo you can brush up on it if you are a hwinfo user. http://forum.techinferno.com/pc-gaming/323-you-need-these-trouble-free-gaming.html?highlight=trouble+free+gaming Check there for needed files for most games such as DirectX, open al, physx, .netfx etc http://forum.techinferno.com/t%7Ci-member-product-reviews/1416-hwinfo.html#post17375 Check here to configure hwinfo
