  2. I know this is primarily a laptop forum, who can pass up a "minor" update to a nice desktop though? EDIT: Didn't even see custom worklog forum, mod please feel free to move.

  3. Here's the official disassembly guide for the Asus G73 (JH, JW, ...). It shows all the necessary steps to take apart the system. When you do it several times you'll see that there are faster ways than just following each step, but it's a great help anyway. In case you need some specific pictures (more detailed than in the guide), let me know, I'll see what I can do. I still have some of the pictures I took while disassembling the G73JW.

  5. yeah as far as I remember there is an option at the command center (I don't have it installed so I can't confirm on that) also in case you have installed synaptics there has to be an option there as well ( I don't have that installed either )

  6. So what can I say... As someone who has owned an R2 this is by far the greatest news since sliced bread. Great guide for the ultimate upgrade for Alienware M17xR2.

  7. Ok, so the HX1000 was DOA, I'll see if the postal insurance will cover it. In the meantime, I've ordered an Enermax 1500w maxrevo or whatever, the new one Hopefully it'll be here today, at the moment I'm only running one 580 on my seasonic 650w. Here's the one shot I do have at the moment (before I realised the corsair was dead). You'll probably notice cabling isn't my thing. Preliminary benches on one GPU + cpu at 4.7ghz (not happy with CPU clocks, seem to have hit a false ceiling, anyone know of a good 1155 OC guide?) That first pic is shameful! Ok, some cleaning to do then. Damn smartphone camera advances. Anyone with a case suggestion? Think BIG and SOLID, designed for watercooling, and not the 800d or TJ07

  8. X-men first class was pretty good. Definitely better than x2 or x3 IMO. Then again, I did like Origins a lot, but most people hated that. The timeline between Origin and X-men first class is off a bit (inconsistencies). Little fockers-funny movie. Not any real plot, but still funny

  9. As many would probably say, "You get what you pay for". I certainly go by that phrase a lot, and doing the change from the M14x to a Sager could mean some sacrifices you may regret having a bit more into the future. In my opinion the build quality of the Sager doesn't look as good as the Alienware either.

  10. I went and looked at the Sager and I honestly only see a larger screen nothing else is an upgrade. The vid ram won't do anything, it has less port options ie video out and dual headset. No backlit keyboard? If I could buy the m14x for as little as you nothing else could compare. I have looked at least 6 gaming laptops and keep coming back to alienware and price has no factor in my consideration. It took me 6 months comparing tablets before I bought the one I am typing this on and all I will say is I have put in at least 8 hours a week since I got it into research for a new laptop and the m14x wins all side by side features I put them through not incuding price.

  11. Played Demo. I will save my opinions to last. Settings - As High as all settings would go (Shadows Ultra, Everything else High, 2xAA and 2xAF). Benchmark --> Constant 60fps (vsync enabled) System: GPU set to 750/900. Here are some screenshots My thoughts - Doesn't feel like the old Ds1 or Ds2. The graphics are not great but the plus is that this game will probably run on just about any system which is a good selling point. It seems to be a pretty standard dungeon crawler. Not worth 50 bucks in my opinion but maybe a good sale or steam sale it might be worth a purchase. Standard skill tree's, break barrels for loot (wash rinse repeat). Thanks for reading, StevenX

  12. Well you also lose: AW styling Dell warranty service Subwoofer Optional WiHD transmitter 1080p on a 14" IMO is too high of a resolution but that's a personal choice.
