  2. Final run for the day, on Dice. Now time to head to work and make some money! 3DMark11 P6385 --- Result URL for details Once I reinstalled CCC and everything, it was apparant a run on dice would provide favorable results. I may try for higher GPU locks later when I get some time, but they are already pretty high. Still have to run vantage with those clocks. May be a while since I'm moving to a new Apt in a week. Once I get settled, time to head bac to the ice cream shop for more dice

  3. Could be, they may have reset. I thought I had them all on "Performance" Here is a side by side comparison between mww86 and score. On another note so close to 23K CPU. 3DMark Vantage: Score: P 21459 GPU: 21014 CPU: 22915

  5. The newest in Asus's gaming line of notebooks will be a 17.3" notebook called the G74. Featuring a new display that will feature a wider gamut than standard WLED as well as superior viewing angles and brightness, this notebook seems a worthy alternative to other popular notebooks such as the Alienware M17x-R3. It also features new cooling with larger exhausts. Set to be released in Q3 of this year (~July 2011), it should feature the new Sandy Bridge processor along with nVidia's 500M series graphics card. 6. (finished) So after seeing Inap's wonderful paintings I decided to give it a shot. I'm thinking orange! It will be the first time im going to completely disassemble my system. So thought i would share my progress and hopefully an awesome result. Firstly i bought a new pair of magnesium covers for my lappy in case of something went wrong. The alien head was glued on to the lcd cover and the plastic plate was welded on. I used a heat gun for the head and a small drill for the plate. Rest of the stuff was kinda straight forward off. Just a screw here and there (ie. battery lock) With the bare magnesium set i went to get rid of the old paint at a chemical cleaning called Danclean. Could maybe have done it myself if I had any knowledge of the actual paint. Now I have covered (blue heat resistant tape from the powder coating place) the areas of the magnesium set where I don't want it powder coated. Since it's the first time I do this I wanted to make sure everything would fit inside afterwards. I will have some more pics to share soon... ... which is now! It's not perfect but here it is to enjoy!

  8. Congratulations DR650SE, nice score. Looks like there's a triple threat on 3DMark11 everybody steer clear of Stamatis-X, DR650SE, MW86. Brian if you reran your 3DMark run it may help you sell your R2. CCC settings are very important. Turning off tesselation is very important, thank Stam. Also turn mipmaps to high performance, Catalyst Optimization to performance, check the box to optimize flat surfaces and make sure anistropic is set to app setting and antialiasing to box(seems to be best performance for antialiasing). Now if I can use setfsb to set 148mhz baseclock and have fans at max with HWInfo while tweak itls setting to low resources used, I just may be able to go up a tiny bit more. DR650SE my last increase that I saw was from the 89TDC, 90 caused me to restart comp. Plus I turned off the tweak for constant turbo max multiplier on quad core to the origional dynamic behavior of the cpu. So my dual core and single core modes were faster for the tests that did not have physics which I believe the physics tests are all quad core. DR650SE lets see 6100+ with your dry ice, I know you can do it at 1ghz core, just need to keep that spaceship cool.

  9. I reinstalled CCC and the drivers and there were other options that I didn't have before. Maybe I neglected to install something before. Time to Rerun some benches, but this one was done without external cooling, and lowered the clocks to 930/1200. I'll get a 1GHz GPU run done today which should stack nicely. Also might have to rerun Vantage and see if it makes a differance. Not sure if it will or not. P5924 http://3dmark.com/3dm11/990493

  10. Ir run argus monitor and see what I get during the 3DMark11 bench.

  11. yeah, just curious to see if you can sustain this frequency throughout the benchmark of if it drops due to lack of power

  12. I thnk so, I'm going to rerun it and boost that number up. but my CPU scores look pretty good.

  13. yeah that's the most annoying part, when you are soooo close... I was wondering, with TDC 80 can you maintain those multis at 25x all the time during the bench?

  14. Nice score, this is the highest I've had so far. 5872 I have a 146MHz FSB, 26x across all cores, 1000MHz/1300MHz GPU, and still can't break 5900. I'm thinking I need to mess with settings or something, Just can't figure out what. Result Comparing our results, it looks like it's Graphics Test 4 that is killing my score. I'm getting 16.6 FPS, where your getting 19.04 FPS. If I can figure out that, I may have a chance at putting up a better score.

  16. I Read some of the pro and he cons about the M18x and to be honest I am sticking to my m17x R3 that I order a couple of days ago. Why ? Because in the current market there is no better laptop in my mind that the m17x-R3, sure the m18x is alluring and exciting but I personally been waiting for the m17x-R3 for over 3 or 4 months. I remember AW stop offering it after the sandy bridge debacle and is has been the only time that AW didn't offered a 17" Laptop, you only had 2 choices the m11x or the m15x not bad choices in their own rights but I was sold on the m17x. Then AW started offering the m17x-R2 again, but only with ATI Vid cards, I know I might get flame but I wont buy a laptop with ATI vid cards, not even on X-fire. So Finally just a week or 2 ago the m17x-R3 was back on the roaster and I made my move. I been waiting for this laptop for a long time, and yes the m18x might be the best thing since sliced bread, bring world peace and find Jimmy Hoffa , but I know that the m17x-R3 is the machine for me.

  18. Heeh yeah, wonder what the differences are between Dell-6970m and mxm-upgrade-6970m compared to the differences between Dell-5870m and Clevo-5870. GL! I certainly hope it got the same features (ie audio @ displayport).

  21. It's a nice looking laptop but the cooling system is seriously flawed. If you put it on your lap it cant breathe. The exhaust is pretty sweet looking though. I think the HDD and memory locations are going to make the palm rest pretty hot. Have to see what the real users find. A coworker has a 16" Asus ROG and loves it, so based off that I would entertain the idea of buying one of these.

  22. Well i hope it will be ten times better than the G73JH and have way way better warranty sucks how their mobos rock but their high end mobile gaming machines are sometimes pretty bad and still overpriced! And the 560 is a joke they seriously should just put a bloody 6970 or gtx 485 in there if they want some real competition and sales.

  23. Offset changes for 10 from stock to 5%: Stock: 31 1%: 32 2%: 33 3%: 33 4%: 34 5%: 34 I can go to 37 or 38 stable and 39 leads to BSOD. Usually 150mhz to 152mhz is where i max out and is plenty to get a 920xm over 4.0ghz
