hangman33
I've already heard a lot of good things about the oculus rift. And I know a lot of my friends are willing to buy it once all the bugs and technical issues have been fixed. But, will it really transform gaming as we know it? I mean, I know it would be awesome to actually play an FPS, for example, and feel like you're actually there. But all in all, do you think it would just end up being something gimmicky instead of something serious for gamers?
pangott
I think it's a little bit early to give money for it. But you could try one of your friend's rift to see if it's working for you.
Kijask
well iAm Working with RIFT an Co. I would say try it first before buying it. Every System (Gear VR, Occulus , HTC Vive, Cardboard, Dive .... ) has its benefits and its cons. The greatest Problem for most People is that they get VR sickness. If you have it you won't use it. CoopJackersmith
no, i'd rather play with cardboard.
KP125x5
Eh, can't see myself doing it. I imagine that it will be very unrealistic until the technology improves in a couple decades. However, like with many things, the porn industry will be pioneers in the field and will love this...
customer
I'll probably get one if I got the money and a sufficient desktop PC. My notebook won't make it.
Moderator angerthosenear Posted August 2, 2015 Moderator Share Posted August 2, 2015 Ordered up the DK2, waiting for it to arrive. I look forward to fiddling around with it!
HomicidalToaster
I think the Oculus would be awkward when playing with pc especially if it requires a mouse. Would you have to use your head to look around while keeping your arms at the pc? What if you wanted to turn around?
paulxxx
I think that this is not a good thing. Many people will now longer sit at home. And forget that there are real world.

Ozfer
I don't have enough money to buy it. I don't think its worth it at this point.
GadgetmanZB
To me it seems like it would damage your eyes from having a screen that close. But I think that it would be cool to try out, but only once the price comes down.
1337lutz
No, right now the pixel density for me doesnt cut it.
toggy294
I think sony prometheus is better. And you can play with ps4 too
Flarrow
I think in the future VR will be much more prominent but for the time being the pixel density and headaches are going to be a huge problem with VR.
TheWhiteWolves
Buy it, I already have it, my opinion is that's it's a very nice device but it has its places of use, personally I prefer augmented reality devices to virtual reality ones but they both have their areas of use. catly1
I have a gear vr headset which uses a note 4 as the screen. The latency is fine but even with the 2k display the pixels are still fairly visible. Carmack said 4k should be enough but I'm not too sure about it. Text is already hard to read just in 2k. To be able to run games at 4k and above 60 fps is impossible right now with current gpus. Maybe old games can but recent games can't achieve a solid 60 fps even in SLI/CF setups. Seij
I've bought one myself and my suggestion is to wait for the consumer version, there's not enough support for it right now and nothing worthwhile to do on it. Getting it to work with many games is a hassle.
pelek12
No, cause im to poor for it propably But it could be something like next-gen.
prxus
The Oculus has yet to evolve into something more appealing and matured for me to consider a purchase. Price is way to high at present.
