Re: Klem --> Read about and tried this method with a USB drive.  Did not work.

Maybe this method only works with the BIOS on the OS drive.

Searching for a way to access my PCIe drive with OS, to see if the .bin file is there.

I am currently living in Brazil, which complicates things a little.

0. Download and unzip attached archive directly on the root of the drive C:

1. Put attached file (not archive, just only unzipped file) directly on the root of drive C:

2. Disable laptop (with press and hold Power button).

3. Disconnect Power adapter.

4. Disconnect battery.

5. Press and hold Ctrl and Home buttons together.

6. Connect Power adapter. ( Don't realise Ctrl and Home buttons).

7. Press the Power button, wait 3-5 sec, and then realise Ctrl and Home buttons.

8. Wait until the recovery procedure will be finished.

9. Start laptop.

10. Done.

Also you can try again with USB drive, but put on it the file G751JY.bin ( not archive G751JY.zip ! )

Try use USB drive with small capacity, for example 4Gb or 8Gb.

Format USB drive to FAT or FAT32.  Put on it the file G751JY.bin

1. Connect USB drive to laptop (try use different USB ports).

2. Disable laptop (with press and hold Power button).

3. Disconnect Power adapter.

4. Disconnect battery.

5. Press and hold Ctrl and Home buttons together.

6. Connect Power adapter. ( Don't realise Ctrl and Home buttons).

7. Press the Power button, wait 3-5 sec, and then realise Ctrl and Home buttons.

8. Wait until the recovery procedure will be finished.

9. Start laptop.

10. Done.

Thanks Klem.

I will give it a try.

2 questions though:

1. You mention to remove the battery.

This means the laptop battery or cmos battery?

I hope it is the laptop battery, you are aware that this type of Rog 751jy, needs to be disassembled to reach the battery?

2. Another question: any ideas on how to read/write the PCIe SSD without a working notebook?

Thanks!

Laptops battery. But if in your laptop the battery placed inside in the laptop, then don't touch it.

Just instead 4. Disconnect battery, do next step 4. Completley Disable laptop via press and hold the Power button. Then go to step 5.

Working on it.

Just another question, because it seems this matter.

It is the left or the right CTRL-KEY?

left CTRL KEY  + HOME KEY together.

Reviving old thread. Question, Klem I locked myself out of PC like it doesn't turn on or anything after XTU overclock. Is there any other way to return bios to stock other than USB  method as I don't have any reaction at all from my computer or is it screwed at this point ?

Hi!

You can reset the settings very simply. If you temporarily remove all your RAM sticks, and instead of them temporarily insert one another RAM stick (with different RAM size, or from different manufacturer).

Oh snap, I didn't know it. Well just did it. PC turned on everything other than windows working. Going to reinstall OSes and then report back
