Alienware A18, AW18 (m18x r3) 780m sli not returning from power off or sleep

i have recently bought a used AW18 with 780m sli that has a small problem:

after a few hours when the machine is shut down, sent to sleep or hibirnated it can not boot up properly:

all i see is a black screen, untill the Windows is loaded and the screen starts blinking and i see a teared, flickering and blinking windows password prompt.

nothing helpes to resolve it, except hard reset. this happens after an hour or two after the machines has been off, or in sleep mode.

otherwise mahcine works flawlesly for many days in a row, unless it has been shut off.

maybe someone has an idea what is going on?

i have tried Win7, Win8.1, latest machine Bios from Dell and unlocked vBios from Slv7 for both of the cards.

works perfectly with Intel hd.

I have had this issue before, for whatever reason a reformat, re install of o/s fixed it. I might have been using a multi license version of win 7 at the time though, I reinstall from the AW disk now.

Are you using an SSD? Because sleep doesn't perform well with SSD's and hybrid speed. Regarding the shutdown issue, maybe Nvidia has an issue on boot. You need to find another nvidia card to test it.

the problem was in the motherboard, was replaced by dell and now all is fine, except that the new motherboard have weird colors of backlight... will have to RMA it again it seems.
