eGPU cases

Hi everyone, I have a great eGPU setup with the Rockstar 6361A with a Asus 980 TI Strix and an Evga 650 P2.

I have been looking at the Xigmatek Eris for a case but am wondering if anyone knows how tight their tolerances are. It says it fits a 300mm GPU strix being 305mm (with shroud). If need be I can remove the shroud but there is no mention of how high of a gpu it supports. It looks like my GPU will fit but there is no way to tell for sure.

Should I just go for it and see if I can squeeze it in or use the Elite 130 (bigger than I would like) that I know it will fit in?

I am currently using a CoolerMaster Elite 130 again, that is similar to the SILVERSTONE sugo 08.

How about corsair Graphite 380T ?

She has holding on top.

I'm still considering about A4 SFX, but the price is too expensive

Try and find this riser: DeLOCK 41788 PCIe x16 Riser

You will need exactly this riser to make a 90° turn and you will need a flexible riser cable as well.

OR you try and find Li-Heat Riser like this in Type-A: http://www.highflow.nl/hardware/videokaarten/li-heat-pci-e-gen-3.0-ribbon-flexible-riser-cable-black.html

As you can see the connector makes a 90° turn into the cable:

This is mandatory for cases like the Elite 130.

Li-Heat Riser type A take IDR 500k ~ $ 38 (much expensive for student like me). I hope price of drop down. :)

And now, I'm use a single flexible riser

But, the performance goes drop down.

Firestrike testing was crash

The Witcher 3 got half performance ( normally 30-44 FPS, but now only 12-15 FPS)

So that, I decided to put PE4C with board :D into the case and Dell DA-2 too.

I cut with the dremel in the bottom of my CM120 so I can make room for the extender to go through and return with the cable back.

Couldnt find a better solution at that time. So I went ahead and made that hole to let the extender non flexible part some space.

Hi,

very happy with the combination of a Milo ML08 from Silverstone, Highpoint RocketStor 6361A Thunderbolt 2 PCIe, and Silverstone SFX-L 80+ Gold 500W Modular Power Supply. Using the supplied riser from Silverstone, it is possible to mount the naked Thunderbolt PCIe card on the other side of the bay that holds the GPU, if you can insulate it, as the power pins from the molex connector are very close to the divider. As you will have to cut a hole to access the Thunderbolt connection, I chose to cut out a gap in the divider to prevent the possibility of anything shorting. I also had to do a bit of modding to get the pipes through for a Hybrid EVGA 980ti, so I always knew that there would be some cutting involved.

Bonus with the Highpoint case is that is perfectly in tact, so it could be re-purposed in the future, and it is the same price as the AKiTiO at B&H. Oh and ofcourse, the power is supplied via 2 molex connectors  for the Silverstone PSU, so none of the modding to the power supply is required. Its a very neat set up.

Cheers
