Lenovo Ideapad Y500 usually doesn't detect it's own LCD

My laptop stopped detecting it's primary display (it is undetected also before Ubuntu loads - in BIOS, Boot menu etc.). When this happened for the first time, I thought it is a hardware issue, but sometimes it suddenly starts working (usually after reboot, but once it also started while it was loading Ubuntu).

I have already reinstalled Ubuntu and I even installed Windows, but it didn't affect it's behavior. The only thing that seems to affect it, was updating nvidia driver from Windows, but after some reboots the problem has returned.

Does anyone know what could cause this (maybe corrupted BIOS?) and how to fix this?

Thanks for your help :)

Regards!
