Elendanis
So, a few months back, my alieware laptop kicked the bucket, but for an odd reason. Randomly my motherboard shorted, or so I thought, and my laptop would now turn off the power adapter every time I would go to plug it in. Unfotunately, it is my primary system, so I drastically opened it up to figure out what was wrong. After having no clue as to what it was, I used a friend's comp to use the magical google to try and figure out what it was! I came to the conclusion that my MOBO had died, and needed replaced.I was wrong, after a day of dissasembling and reassembling this laptop, the same thing happened! So I was defeated, that was my last resort.A few weeks pass, I'm without my gaming rig, and I'm on this other laptop, looking for solutions, when I came across a post talking about Alieware components, specifically graphics cards. Turns out, when a g-card dies, it can short your MOBO. So, with my fingers crossed, I took out the graphics card, and booted with integrated graphics, and it worked! My advice to you is: When your charger shorts, don't assume it's the mobo, test other components first! coolitic
Lol this happened to me before. I was freaking out as to why my computer suddenly shut off while I was playing planetside 2 and the slight odor made me worried.
