CrypticMyst
I recently did the bios mod to allow me to install my Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 card from an older laptop. After I installed it I was able to find wireless networks but when I tried to connect to them it doesn't connect and looks like the adapter turns off and on. I have tried re installing the drivers but that didn't seem to help at all. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be?
revolutionz
Could possibly be a bad card? Maybe try re-seating the card? Did you un-install all old drivers before re-installing the new ones? I had a problem with my Centrino 2230 where it would keep dropping the connection, even after re-installing the new drivers. Finally, I deleted all wifi drivers and software, then rebooted, and then installed the drivers again, and now its been almost a week since I have dropped a connection. Just a few things to try maybe.
thenextTechie
I had a similar problem, you have to make sure you have to recent intel proset software and proper drivers, you may need to use previous version of the drivers
GTman03
Are you still experiencing issues? I have not flashed a whitelist modded bios but when I reloaded Windows 8.1 on my Y400 from scratch, I was having the same issue. I was able to get around this by using a slightly older driver (as thenextTechie suggested) and have not had any issue connecting since. m00100101
After re-seating the card, I would run through every possible driver for that card, and if that still doesn't work, see if there are any generic drivers for any Intel Centrino card. kingnothing724
This should be the list of drivers, just start going from top to bottom until you get a version that works for yours.https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=&ProductID=3714&ProdId=3714
