bbish937
I was looking into the SSD and how much faster they are compared to the HDD and i was wondering if its possible to add an SSD to the m14x on top of the HDD. Like use the SSD as your primary for the speed and performance and then have the HDD as the secondary drive to use it for storing the bigger type files. Is this even possible? If so how? And do you have to get a certain type of system spec on the M14x to do this? Because i have not yet ordered mine.
Stevenxowens792
bbish937 - Welcome to T|I. Yes, you can purchase a caddy to replace the optic drive (dvd-rom) and put your original hard drive that came with the m14x. Then you can use a SSD as primary drive in the original's place. See the thread called http://forum.techinferno.com/alienware-m14x/588-**guide**-installing-secondary-hard-drive-your-m14x-w-piks.htmlI have done this same caddy replacement and I actually have 2 SSD drives in my notebook now.Best Wishes,StevenX
