MarlinFF
Thanks a lot. I'm sure others did not make a recovery image as soon as it booted.
pcdj
it should be factory recoveri image not homemade image.

valued17
It is windows 8 or windows 8.1 ? Please let me know cos I need it if its windows 8 only.
pcdj
i think it's 8 because 8.1 is not factori used in y510p

Dastardly_Dog
attached is the torrent file to the y510p recovery ISO images from lenovo. It was painful to obtain those so I'm saving you the hustle. just download the file and rename the file (just delete the .txt extension)First off, Thanks for the post. unfortunately I am unable to download due to min. post requirements. Just wanted to let you know that if you call Lenovo, you can actually speak with a person that has some sense. You can get recovery disk sent to you for free if you talk to the warranty dept. Everyone else will tell you that you have to purchase it for about 60 bucks with support or 40 bucks with out. Hope anyone reading this gets as lucky as I did. It was a pain in the ass to get that far. I recently upgraded to an SSD However, the migration software failed to copy all the partitions one of said partitions being the recovery. Best of luck
tristanleboss
Is it possible that someone with the file either seed it or share it through another file sharing system like mega... Thanks a lot.
nono
Could some one please seed this again? I just got my Lenovo y510p and forgot to make a backup before wiping it so I could "downgrade" from Windows 8 to Windows 7.
bobbobster
Hello, can anyone confirm this set creates the hdd partitions as well? Also is it factory or is it homemade image. Thanks
madhatter256
If only I can download this at this moment! I don't have the minimum posts yet! I have a server at home which I use as a seedbox and would gladly keep this up and running. So, for those who have it, please start up the seeding! maxjohnson
Thanks, I wiped out the hdd that came with the laptop, would this be possible to restore to it? I assume this is legal and the activation key is kept in your bios?sent via tapatalk
bobbobster
I assume this is legal and the activation key is kept in your bios?I am also curious about the above. Are TPM chips related to that, not sure if the y510p has one? Also if the OP is still around, are these dvd images from Lenovo themselves or are they diy. Many thanks. djmonaco
Does anyone know if the recovery disc media can be used to restore the laptop to it's initial lenovo factory setup, except not on the hdd...I'd prefer to boot and run directly from the ngff m.2 ssd (i have the 128gb mydigitalssd card) ?? Thanks in advance.

jeffknight
Someone get this person a drink! Thank you very much. Getting any kind of support from Lenovo is like pulling teeth, so I try and avoid them when I can.
estnik
I don't understand why manufacturers don't provide recovery media anymore.
mitunakaptor
with my new ssd purchase i was hoping to get an original iso, this was exactly what i was looking for... but yea... no seeders! it would be much appreciated also has anyone noticed that on the stock os from lenovo the fans run much much harder than when i had formatted i can only max out the fans with the "fan clean" feature in the power management driver
