ok, after doing some diggin, does this present a problem with the install, since I did follow the article to a tee, so under properties I see:

--> "PCI Device 10DE-0618 / 1028-02A1 (Rev A2)"

and

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0618&SUBSYS_02A11028

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0618&CC_030000

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0618&CC_0300

I really not stupid here, lol but trying to get some clarification, if i need to do something else in the inf section. Thanks

OS version ? :)

Win7.

2

[NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1] Win7

Search for %NVIDIA_DEV.0618.02A2.1028% = Sectionxxx, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0618&SUBSYS_02A21028, replace 02A2 with 02A1

- 5 "NVIDIA Windows (64 bit) Driver Library Installation Disk 1"

[strings]

NVIDIA_DEV.0618.02A2.1028 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M " replace 02A2 with 02A1

Is it possible for someone to step me through modding the inf for my dell gtx 680m? I looked through the sticky and got confused.

Below are my hardware id's and my gpu-z output.

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&SUBSYS_053F1028&REV_A1

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&SUBSYS_053F1028

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&CC_030000

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&CC_0300

http://forum.techinferno.com/nvidia/5249-%5Bguide%5D-modding-nvidia-oem-inf-files.html

Under NTamd64.6.1 (Win7 64) look for %NVIDIA_DEV.11A0.057B.1028% = Section369, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&SUBSYS_057B1028 Replace 057B with 053F (11A0.053F.1028% / 053F1028)

NVIDIA Windows (64 bit) Driver Library Installation Disk 1"

[strings]

NVIDIA_DEV.11A0.057B.1028 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M" again replace 057B with 053F

Edit only the matching "NTamd64 Section" for your OS version and NVIDIA Windows (64 bit) Driver Library Installation Disk 1"

NTamd64.6.0 Vista

NTamd64.6.1 Win7

NTamd64.6.2 Win8

NTamd64.6.3 Win8.1

Use the modded nvdmn.inf as a reference, I've edited it for all OS versions (Win7,8,8.1) / NTamd64 Sections.

If you're still confused open nvdmn.inf, notepad -> Edit -> Replace -> Find: 057B Replace with: 053F -> hit Replace All -> Save.
