Hi,

- Win8 -> disable driver signing.

- GeForce 340.52 WHQL

- Extract driver w/ 7-Zip/winrar

- Display.Driver folder -> open NVMIi.inf (notepad) CTRL+H -> Find What: 10EA Replace With: 05AA -> Hit 'Replace All' -> Save.

- Extracted Nvidia 340.52...International\ -> run setup.exe.

Hi J95,

Do you know how I can apply this to install a geforce driver (v340.52) on my quadro fx 880m that is based on a geforce gt 330m? I want to trick my laptop (thinkpad w510) to think it has a geforce 330m because I need a driver optimalized for gaming.

My hardware-IDs:

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A3C&SUBSYS_214517AA&REV_A2

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A3C&SUBSYS_214517AA

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A3C&CC_030000

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A3C&CC_0300

I would be really thankful for your help since this is my last option. All other guides I've found is outdated.

Best regards,

Toffefe

Thanks! got it to install, but having this issue:

Solve a problem with NVIDIA Graphics Driver

NVIDIA Graphics Driver has stopped working properly.

A driver update, if available, might prevent this problem from recurring.

There are several ways of locating and installing driver updates, but it is best to let Windows do this for you. Try the first step below, which describes the process. If it doesn't produce a driver update that solves the problem, then try the remaining steps in the order given.

I played dota2 for alittle bit and it kicked me out saying dota.exe was being blocked from using the graphics card. All honesty, I just used your modified inf in this thread thinking the goal was just to get it installed. It was for a 680M, should that make a difference?

A modded inf is not required, your card/IDs are listed.

Try GeForce 337.88 WHQL, many reported issues with drivers 34x.xx and Fermi cards (580M).

Monitor GPU temperature, keep it below 65C. Try this http://forum.techinferno.com/hwinfo32-64-discussion/65-alienware-fan-control.html

Hi there, I tried to understand how to change those drivers, but i didn't succeed. Maybe it's because my problem is a little tricky :

I have an Asus ROG G73, I updated it to windows 8.1. Since this update, I sometimes have freezes and need to reboot my computer, when reboot isn't needed, there is a nvidia driver alert that is showing.

When try to install a Basic Nvidia Driver, obviously, it doesn't work. But Asus ROG drivers are outdated.

Can you help me to make work the last NVIDIA driver on my G73JW Laptop ? (i can link you to the ASUS RoG drivers site if you want to)

Sorry for bad english, i'm french :)

Hello... just got my 880m installed on my m17x r3 using this technique, but 3D vision not working anymore.. had a 560m which worked fine. Also tried the 780m and 3d vision wouldn't work on that one either. Is this the thread to post in or shall I post elsewhere?
