Y580,5DCN40WW(V2.07) split 4.5M only Bios

Dear

Would anyone whose Y580 is running the V2.07 bios version help export the single Bios (4.5M ,not the 6M one with the EC also inside).

I am now running with the EC V2.07 and Bios V8.01. I want to only downgrade the Bios part from V8.01 to V2.07.

Your help will be appreciated.

Do you think you could upload the 4.5 Mb version of the v8.01 bios so that I can flash that (like I posted/talked to you about in the main unlocked bios thread ). In return, I think I could help you with what you need here, but, I'll need you to tell me how to do that. To clarify, you want someone who is running 2.07 bios to export it without the EC part? I'm running slv's modded bios, that's the one you want, right? If so, I think we can arrange a trade of tiles here

In that case, do you know of where I can get v8.01 original bios, one without the EC? I've googled so much and just can't find a legit one. Perhaps the one your mod was based on?

For exporting the V2.07,I think you can just follow svl7's post,there is detail instructions about how to backup your bios.

For the 4.5M original V8.01 bios without EC part, I found it also in slv7's topic maybe half a year ago. If you really need it I will help to dig it out from the posts

PS svl7 : I've flashed the bios with my V2.07 mainboard, it seems that the service tags and serial numbers won't be taken into the mainboard after the flashing. Only the Bios Version will be changed from V2.07 to V8.01

I would like to downgrade to V2.07 only to verify one thing: My battery volume changed to 62 Wh after I flashed the V8.01 and it was 72Wh while in V2.07.It is not chargeable or caused by the wear.

I just doubt if the V8.01 also flashed the firmware of the battery,I don't know,so I have to go back to V2.07 to verify it.

Sorry my English!!!

ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR BIOS FIRST!

This Laptop has 3 bios ICs (Main 4MB, EC 2MB and KBC 128KB)!!!

If you flash clean main bios 4MB or EC 2MB on your machine, to example with programmer, you will not lose S/N, Model or other information, because all this information was duplicated in KBC ENE9012 IC with 128KB (DMI block). It is in this case ver.2.07.

You must flash then the bios under Windows again and this information will be copy from KBC to main and EC ICs.

Don’t worry, the original IC with version 2.07 hasn’t Windows key, because it was make for Windows 7.

But Attention!!!

For user with factory Windows 8 systems!!!

The Windows 8 Key is in the EC bios with 2MB and isn’t duplicated in the KBC. You will lose this information when you downgrade your bios from ver. 8.00 or 8.01 to ver. 2.07.

Which bios version? you modified it starting from the stock bios or svl7's bios? What exactly did you change when you.... "cuted" it?

Also, I have one request; do you think you can mod my bios so that I can overclock cpu? I replaced the 3610QM with 3920XM. But there are only two bios options in advanced->Extended ICC->Lock Registers->Lock Static registers only / Lock All registers... There is no Disabled or any other option to remove the lock from my unlocked 3920XM cpu. I am currently using svl7's v2.07 unlocked bios.
