Hard drive caddy for the AW 14?

Recommended Posts

I found a few at my local computer store at cheap prices, however you can just search on ebay. Tons of them if you shop online.

Try amazon or ebay. As long as it's the right size, it should fit. I believe it's 9.5 mm. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Amazon seems to have two "generic" types-one marketed to Apple users (seems to have screw hole tabs at the top and bottom) and the other ones that seem to have the hot-swappable pull tabs. Most seem to be 9.5mm for a 2.5" drive and some come with mounting screws. I just ordered the one that comes up with a "m14 hdd caddy" search in amazon. I do plan on having to do some modification to get it to fit right, but am still hoping for a perfect fit out of the box. I will update once it arrives.

it's a 9mm , any odd/hdd caddy will work. you can find them on ebay or amazon, or microcenter carries them too, if you have any of them stores around your area.

Why not look into a mSATA ssd since the Alienware 14's have a slot for it? You would not have to replace your original hard drive and you will be able to use both hard drives at the same time for more storage.

I'm willing to replace my cd player by my HDD. Any body can give me a specific reference that fit perfectly into the m14X? Ebay stuff seems not to be very reliable stuff

with that kind of connector?

what is called this kind of connection ?

thanks by advance
