assitch
Anyone have any tips for cleaning smudges off my screen? A purified water dampend cloth is not cutting it. Thanks
octiceps
It's ghetto, but I just use a microfiber cloth and my breath to rub out any smudges. I find with the glossy screen that any sort of liquid will create streak marks that are very hard to get out. If you must use liquid, I suggest spraying a little distiller water on a microfiber cloth and gently rubbing in circles, then take a Red Rocket or similar and blow dry the screen immediately. This should minimize the water spots and streak marks, but if some still remain then take a dry cloth and gently buff them out. Whatever you do, don't use Windex or an alcohol-based cleaner, even the ones advertised for LCD screens, on it.
theagent
I've used this stuff Amazon.com : Inland 05119 Pro LCD Display Cleaning Kit : Laptop Cleaning Kit : Electronics, which is great...but I only paid a few dollars for it ($3-4 I think, when it was discounted heavily). Never had streaking or issues with it, and left the screen perfectly clean. Now that I'm out, I use eyeglass cleaner from Costco. It's made for anti-glare screens, so it should be safe to use on LCD's... anyway, that works just as well I think.
