Pathfindercod
I built this machine about 4 months ago. Pretty happy with it. Not sure what my next project will be. I had a horrible time getting decent sound out of the "Supreme Sound card" on the Maximus Formula for my Tiamat 7.1 headphones so i added the Phoebus 7.1 sound card down between the video cards. Works well and did not mess with card temps any. Thinking about going full blown water in this XB case for the CPU, the maximus tubes built in and video cards. Might be a tight fir but may be fun to do. What do you guys think? aeonoscence
you'll be sad to know that your mobo's barbs will not be able to utilise conventional water tubing - ur barbs are 1/8" but conventional tubing is either 3/8" or 1/2" in inner diameter - so you're gonna have to source another motherboard block with such a small case, i don't think watercooling it would be the way to go since you're cooling a cpu and two gpu's but you won't be able to fit much radiator comfortably, unless you're willing to build an external rad box watercooling is pretty expensive and i would advise that you start off with something roomier to begin having said that, prove me wrong if you like watercooling
Brushy
Nice and clean looking. Loving that case. I've been a big fan of Cooler Master for a while now. How are those headphones by the way? I'm actually using true 5.1 Cooler Master CM Storm S paired with a Sound Blaster Z, they sound amazing, but I've been debating on going 7.1.. Just not sure about Razer as I've found their products feel like they're really cheaply made (past experiences with them weren't good in the slightest). So I'm curious about the Tiamat. Kythos
Very nice! I like the Samsung SSDs as well. If you are going with SSDs for your next system as well, you should check out the Samsung 840 EVOs. They are even faster than the Pro. The pro gets you about 512/512 Read/Write. The last system I built with SSDs had a single EVO drive in it, in rapid mode. By default, its read/write is the same as a Pro, but when in RAPID mode, with an i7 processor, the read/write speeds got bumped up to 1.2GB/s (note that is Byte, not Bit). Freakin' amazing drives. saria131
love the machine, super neat cable management. Love the case too, the only thing that kept me away from it was the 2 3.5inch drive bays. I really always need at least 4. But that's just me hogging music and photos
