I think we need double that.... Since it's disabled it runs really slow now @ 900Mhz... that is really slow. my loading and opening speed of applications have been affected. Uraz Posted June 26, 2014 Share Posted June 26, 2014 You can lock the CPU to never run slower than 3ghz, but as for actual overclocking that is not possible (unless AMD reference clock documentation gets leaked).How to lock to 3ghz and 3.5ghz:There is no program that does it properly, so you need to do it directly with PCI config space writes. I use BAR-EDIT on the trinity laptop I have access to. The way the method works is you just limit the number of P-states the processor is allowed to use. PScheck can do this, but it neglects changing what P-state the CPU goes into C6 in, which is set by default to a state that is no longer available, thus breaking the top turbo bin.B0D24F3xDC clear bits 9 and 10 (in english: on bus 0, device 24, function 3, offset 0xDC, make bits 9 and 10 equal to 0)To then fix top turbo:B0D24F3xA8 clear bits 30 and 31These changes net a consistent 9-12% raw performance gain in multithreaded programs. As for 0A8 setting bits 31 and 30 to 0 doesn't cause problems as usual. Now, in my AMD Overdrive CPU monitor, I see that it stutters between 3.2 and 3.5. Did I successfully do it? I have a R9 M290X, which is just basically an 8970M and 8650G. Is it possible to hybrid crossfire both? Since I opened GPU-Z it says crossfire available. I already have AmdMsrTweaker. Here's the SS. Simple Posted July 20, 2014 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Hello, I modified the right bits using bar edit but i have a problem it stays pretty good until the cpu starts getting hotter then it starts to throttle down to 1.4 ghz every now and then givin massive stuttering for a couple of seconds which is really frustrating... I followed the instructions, So Bus.0 Dev.24 Fct.3. Coordinates OC/ODC I have edited bits 9 & 10 to 0. Leaving everything else default. And Coordinates 08/0A8 i edit bits 30 & 31 to 0. Battlefield 4 performance has increased a lot. (BTW I tried this fix before with limited success. Last night i downloaded driverSweeper for graphics cards and completely wiped my AMD drivers (In Safe mode). Re-downloaded the drivers and here i am. So maybe that also contributed).Anyway. On to the bad bit. When i shut down/restart my laptop my laptop freezes and i have to hold the power button to turn it off. Needless to say this is quite damaging. Please help.PS. The system freezes at the point right when it would turn off, so I don't think holding the button down causes any problems, but if you want it to shut off normally, change 0xDC bits 9 and 10 back to 1 when shutting down or restarting. 0xA8 should not need to be changed back, just 0xDC. I have A10-5750M ES but I think all trinity and richland mobile cpus will have the same problem.So, Im trying to overclock the CPU with CPB and APM disabled, so I'm overclocking the P0 state. But I am experiencing throttling when the voltage gets past Pb1 state. I tested with default CPU multiplier and many many options from the BKDG like LHTC, HTC but still the problem persists.My Pb1 defaults at [email protected] and boosting the Pb1 voltage is impossible (MSR, PSCheck, OverDrive), but when I undervolt it for example to 1.15 I will get Px throttling @1.15625Basically if PxVID>Pb1VID=Px throttlingThe only thing that half-fixes this, is setting D24F3xDC to force the CPU to not drop under P3, but then I have many other problems wiith overclock.Can anyone help?
