AMD Llano closer to Release

With Intel well into production of their Sandybridge line... AMD's Llano is closer to production. AMD FX 8-core CPU beats Intel 2600K... but at 4cores is that such a fair comparison? You decide... Performance info leaks about AMD's upcoming FX desktop CPUs, Llano APUs | ZDNet

As the new release of AMD's Llano line nears we see the common price drops associated with that. Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition six-core CPU, is going from $239 to $205

I don't think AMD will beat Intel at this field unfortunately, but there are other areas that they can. (anyways the graph that they use on their first post kinda sucks)

I think AMD will be very successful against Intel's IGP. Zacate and Ontario already helped AMD turn a profit after a long long time. Llano will build on that momentum and help keep AMD in the green (no pun intended). Plus with ARM shaping up to be a contender against the x86 market in the future and rumors of Apple migrating to ARM (I doubt they will with macbooks but their iphone/ipad are a foregone conclusion), Intel has bigger problems on its hands than AMD. Don't count out nVidia either, they're going to be aggressive with their project Denver CPU and their tegra platform. Things will start getting really interesting around 2013-2014.

True 2013 -2014 will be a technology explosion. You know according to that bad graph the graphics are the only thing beating SandyBridge, so for the enthusiast market.. we don't care how powerful the built in graphics are... we will already have a heavy duty GPU taking care of it. For the power saving and the graphic integration into CPU's the Llano family is already ahead in leaps and bounds. But for the sake of comparison they also should have included results with add on graphics for Intel and AMD... 2600K with a AMD or NVidia add-on card too and AMD FX 8CPU with the same just to show what performs better where. The processor performance is a category, the IGP performance is a category and having a Discrete graphics card solution is another category which should be explored. So who knows which one has fastest cpu performance, who has fastest IGP solution and who performs best with a top end discrete graphics card solution? I think Nvidia and AMD are bringing in plenty of competition but we need to show that.
