Upgrade from DVD/RW to BluRay/RW

Panasonic UJ-265 price has dropped to a point I consider affordable.

Has anyone had any experience in upgrading their Alienware laptop to a BluRay/RW?

Is it hard to remove the front bezel of UJ-265?

The bezel is very easy to remove. There are plastic tabs that snap into the aluminum housing. Simply depress the tabs while gently pushing the bezel away from the housing. You can see them in the photo posted on eBay. I have the UJ235A (imported from the M17x R2) which is older and a bit slower, but it's a great drive. It was in the chassis of my M18x R1 for a while, then I moved it to an eSATAp enclosure and used the bay for more HDD space instead. As I seldom use an optical disc, the HDD space was far more useful. The UJ265 should serve you well.

Thank you Mr. Fox.

I did the upgrade, took me around 30 minutes or so.

It is very easy to remove the front bezel, put it in M17x R4 takes most of the time.

But it is a smooth job nevertheless.
