Founder Brian Posted March 27, 2013 Author Founder Share Posted March 27, 2013 Updated the first post with a bunch of pictures. Once I complete the game I will write up a review for it. So far though its one of the best games I've played in a long time, right up there with Dishonored but even better.

Founder Brian Posted March 27, 2013 Author Founder Share Posted March 27, 2013 You don't need to play the other bioshock games, this one is pretty much self contained. Much better than the previous games.
Jimbo
Don't you go telling me Bioshock 1 wasn't totally epic! I'm not going to get into better or worse since I haven't played Infinite yet, but Bioshock was a fucking amazing game. #2 on the other hand......... Let's just say if infinite isn't better than that, I will be extremely displeased.

Founder Brian Posted April 29, 2013 Author Founder Share Posted April 29, 2013 Was not really impressed by BI. Too consolish for my liking. You're one of the few people I've seen post anything negative about it. I thought it was very well executed, the one thing they really needed to do was add tessellation to the game.
smashbatcher
One of the most genius games/storys I've ever seen.I would have to put things in a spoiler to expres myself therefor I will just post a quote for Letuce "The mind will struggle to make up memories where non exist""There is no point in asking because he doesn't row!" "He doesn't row?" "No he doesn't row!" "Ah I see what you mean"

I thought it was very well executed, the one thing they really needed to do was add tessellation to the game.Don't get me wrong, the story is good. But thats about it for BI imho. Its pretty linear. Abit too easy imho.I suppose part of the problem here is that I’m not that entranced by the first-person shooter genre anymore. So I found myself paying attention less to the gunning down of enemies, and more to things like riding about on the skylines or just exploring the really cool flying city I was running through. Purely as a shooter, it’s no Crysis 1 and it’s not as interesting as Counter-Strike; there aren’t any really cool innovations like the skiing and jet-packing from Tribes: Ascend. And it’s not as open to experimentation as it ought to be, as a game like Half-Life 2 is
Woklbokl
Game should really be a bit harder (except for the 1999 mode). But the story, especially the ending was really really good.
nfs3freak
Was not really impressed by BI. Too consolish for my liking.I don't think you customized it to your pc. You can change the FOV, key bindings, graphic settings...not sure what you're meaning consolish...
Nospheratu
Just finished it and I didn't like the ending. It was disappointing. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge sci-fi fan and am familiar with the concepts used and usually love deciphering these things but the execution could have used a little work. I even replayed the ending after reading a few reviews/explanations of it and I still feel I was robbed of the ending I was looking forward to. I guess I was so set on saving her punk ass that anything other than that screwed it up for me. I have to admit though, now that I think back on all the hints and pointers throughout the game these guys took it up a level. Thoroughly enjoyed playing through the game although I would have preferred something similar to the original Bioshock's ending but seeing how they laid the groundwork throughout the game the ending seems fitting.... but not to my liking
fatboyslimerr
That is definitely a reaction I might have had but I also watched the ending then read some explanations and possible story extras to discover that all those little plot clues were so elegantly weaved into the story, my favourite being Elizabeth's finger, that I really felt the writers had taken the story to another level. No story like that in any game ever! I'd sort of already worked out that I was Comstock, no sure exactly what gave it away but for me it was more verification and then all that business with those twins that travel through time, dropping lots of hints really. I loved it personally.
brady93
BI is definitely one of the best games I've ever played, completed it on PS3 when it came out, and as soon as I got a decent computer bought it for £12 while on offer. While I'll admit the gameplay is rather linear, I was so enthralled in the story and fascinated by Elizabeth's transformation from a naive young girl, that it being a little too linear didn't end up bothering me in the slightest.Another thing that impressed me was how well optimised it was for PC considering it is a console port, and the issues that were present with Bioshock. The only thing that really bugged me at the start of the game was graphics based, as I think the game looks beautiful and well crafted, but there's the flat 2D textures of the rose bushes and such, which detracted slightly, but is ignorable, especially once the game starts pushing you along with the story. Nospheratu
Yeah I also noticed those flowers and it reminded me of Duke Nukem 3D Now that I think about it I think I'm more disappointed in myself for not realising that Comstock was an alternate me. I played through the game again trying to find something that clearly pointed that out and I still couldn't find anything solid until the very end. Maybe Back to the Future / FRINGE / Sliders screwed up my understanding of time travel and alternate realities cos its still confusing
Ufo104
The ending for me was the perfect balance of sweet and sour. Irrational really set themselves up for infinite DLC probabilities, just look at Burial at Sea.
Zwergling
BI was great, but it could've had cooler boss battles. Recently made games like ME3 and BI and whatnot lack that last epic final boss battle that I always thought was really cool X.X

inyue
Someone more has random freezes when the map is changing? I needed to play for 1 hour to pass the first sea map....
dnuful
I noticed the lack of big boss battle as well. Overall, it was a good game, though I'm excited for the Burial at Sea DLC release - since I really miss Rapture.
williamtaplin
Infinite was really pretty and the ending was soo good, I only wish I had a 4k tv and a computer that could handle it on ultra settings.
