Hello

So I have a Np6110 from sager (bought through xoticpc)

Currently I have

Bios: 1.02

EC: 1.02

I have looked on your latest stock clevo sager bios files and it is updated to

BIOS:11

EC:09

Now the Overclock update file is

BIOS:04

EC: 03

curious how I could update the bios to the OC version do you have to do anything special or can I update to the latest you have posted or do I have to wait for you to mod all the way up to the latest files to do so

Super noob back with a couple more questions. Just got the modded bios from rapidshare. Do i need to change anything in the fparts file or do i leave it as is? And how recommended is it that i flash from 1.02.xx to your supplied stock bios? (I just don't want to screw things up some how xD). Last question, do i need to reinstall windows after flashing the bios or is it fine to keep my current installation? I know I'm probably asking loads of stupid questions but it's my first time at this and just want it to go well. (To note, i have win7 installed on a mSATA SSD rather than a HDD incase that has implications).

Just flash the latest Mod version, the only reason I have made stock BIOS available is that some people need it for warranty purposes.

First make notes of relevant current BIOS settings like OS select (Win8 or 'other'), 'UEFI' and maybe 'boot device order' and repeat those settings after the new BIOS is flashed.

There is also readme file included in every Mod, just follow each step and you will be fine.

I currently own the "W350ST". Can I use the BIOS you're sporting for the W350ET on this machine? I would like to set my own fan control parameters as there doesn't appear to be any logical pattern currently. The CPU will happily hit 95 Celsius before the fan spins up to it's max speed, The CPU can be at 100% utilization and still the fan will not kick in till it's throttling time.

I've managed to play around with VBios settings getting a far greater GPU overclock using the Kepler BIOS tweaker but it appears that the CPU is the main threat cause the TDP of the heatsink can't handle the 4700mq. If your current BIOS for the "W350ET" works just as well then that'll do great! Otherwise is there any tools out there I can use to modify the existing BIOS from this page here: W35xST/W37xST Series ???

Thanks in advance

Nope we can't crossflash a W350ST to W350ET, they are entirely different models. A W350ST Mod will come in due time... ;)

I would always suggest to use the latest Mod or Stock BIOS version (in OP or on the blog), it guarantees best OS compatibility. In your case that would be v3.

Your BIOS is GODLY!! Thank you so much for its creation. My temps are down a lot with this mod. Ran fur mark and temps took ages to break 70C with my 680m (with OC!). The CPU is cooler too, ran TS Bench n the highest temp was core 3 at 79C on the 32M run, interestingly my lowest temp was on core 1 was 69C, i sense something off with the cooling there. How do you adjust the BCLK btw? I didnt see it in the BIOS menu at all but i am using a p150em w/ i7-3630qm (1 below your allowed OCing but thought BCLK/RAM timings would still be available).

Im enjoying the new BIOS. Whats the highest stable BCLK anyone's got to for OCing? I get 104.88MHz with my 3630qm which knocks it up from 3.2GHz to 3.35GHz.

CPU-Z proof =)

The 1.03.xx BIOS for P570WM enables IV-E support, if people downgrade to old stock or Mod version it simply won't boot anymore as those don't support the new CPUs.

Also certain downgrades have been proven to brick Clevo systems in the past, so it's not recommended in general even with stock BIOS and has nothing to do with the Mod in particular.

As of now 1.03 is not relevant for anyone except P570WMx user that have an IV-E, they can not downgrade to an older BIOS. For others I would suggest doing it...

I should have mentioned I have a W230ST based NP7330 with a 4700MQ running Windows 7. What is the risk to my system of going from 1.03.02 to your custom BIOS/EC (download name: W230ST_05_05_PM1.rar)? Do you know anyone who has tried this? Thank you for the info!

Hi Prema,

Do you have any plan to release the v2 mod for W230ST (with BIOS .06) ?

I am currently using the stock 06_05 on your site, can I flash your v1 mod (which is 05_05) safely? Is that considered as a downgrade ?

My max stable was 104.17 (actual) with a sandy bridge. When I tried maxing out my ivy bridge I found that I lose my dGPU over like 103MHz. I might drop PCI-E down to 2.0 (doable with a registry edit) for testing but I haven't bothered.

Interestingly its my iGPU that packs up first, tried adjusting its multi for a bit of fun (and possibly improved dGPU throughput? You know, cos its wired weird) and it froze up instantly, stable at 105.0616MHz reference clock (actual clock is around 104.8), no higher, i get a couple of seconds shaved off bench times so its all good, only worth about 1 frame more in games at best though xD. I also need to check the cooling job on my cpu because core temps have around a 10C discrepancy between core 1 and core 2/3. Also OC'e my RAM to 1961MHz! (With increase in cycle times however)

Hi my clevo is a P15xEMx. I should use the P151 or the P150? or none of than?

Thanks in advance

Mine is reported as a p15xEMx too. In my case it is a p150em and I think that's the case overall. CPU-Z should tell you as well under motherboard tab then model.

Downgrade should work, but I haven't tried it. Working on the new 301 based Mod, it's not too far off:

Hi Prema,

I am very excited to see your modified BIOS version, but I do not see my laptop in your posts. I own the following system:

PCSPECIALIST - 3711 Laptops, 3711 Gaming Laptops, Build Your Own 3711 Laptop

Please advise, I am going to donate too.

That's a Clevo P370SM3, you will have to wait for the Mod...

P151EM has no backlight keyboard, while P150EM has. ;)

Happy to report I have my BCLK up to 106.53 stable. Turns out it was my RAM not my iGPU. I reduced the multi on the RAM and turned the BLCK up more and it was fine. My system drops the dGPU around 107 so that's a no go sadly. But i have my 3630qm running at 3.4GHz as standard now xD. My RAM speed is 1920MHz now instead which is only a small difference. Truly awesome BIOS for unlocking the computer's potential.

Prema Mod v1.1 for W230ST now in the OP.

Changelog:

- Rebased to BIOS & EC 1.03.02

- Updated:

Realtek LAN to v2.58

Haswell CPU Microcode to v17 (6C3)

- Added option to disable dGPU (OS X support, not a power saving measure)

- A little polish here and there ;)

To install OS X 10.9:

- Disable dGPU (Main > Setup)

- Set OS to "other" (Boot > UEFI Setting)

- Enable UEFI - " -

- Disable "CFG lock" (Advanced > CPU Configuration)

Add these lines for HD4600 GPU to config.plist:

<dict><dict>

<key>Graphics</key>
<dict>
<key>ig-platform-id</key>
<string>0x0a260006</string>

Use Clover to Boot!

Share your tweaks, to get all stuff going.

ENJOY! :)</dict></dict>

Thank you very much, my bios is the BIOS V 1.02.17. I should update direct to the mod? I updated this bios 3 months ago.

Sure, everyone can directly flash the Mods, only:

  • P1x0EM: IF THE CURRENT SYSTEM BIOS / EC IS 1.00.03 OR EARLIER, IT IS MANDATORY TO UPDATE TO 1.00.04 BEFORE USING THIS MOD!

Thanks, my model is the p150em as Prema said.

In your opinion is too risk downgrade my bios to 1.00.04?

I have a very little experience in moddin so i don't know how risk it could be.

I updated here :Clevo BIOS Thread

Thanks

I already answered your question. You can directly use the mod.

An update is going from a lower version number to a higher one.

A downgrade goes from a higher version number to a lower.

If you downgrade to v1.00.04 you kill your system!

Hi Prema, cheers for the latest release of the W230ST v1.1 BIOS! May I ask if you tested the HDD password with this release? Were you able to get the mSATA drives to become password protected? I remember that the v1 BIOS were only able to protect the regular 2.5in SATA drive, not the mSATA ones.

Looking to upgrade my Sager NP9280 (Clevo D900F). I too never knew about this site. Followed my friend Johnksss here :Banane19:

If I'm successful in acquiring a new Sager/Clevo, I'll be testing some of your BIOS, Prema. Thanks for the work you put into these.
