Oh, so this is just a problem with his system. So, nothing he can do, or if he got a hold of a good chip and a eprom programmer he could do it? Or maybe cut the pin that does writes, i.e. holds voltage high for writes to happen. (Just wild guesses)

I have to make a custom EC for him from a dump and flash it manually. We have done it before on Dev EC systems, just PM me once you can... ;)

hehe thanks prema.

Will PM you as soon as I can.

btw. I looked in the standard clevo EC Flasher binary and found some interesting strings:

Flash Memory Download Utility for 2'nd EC Revision : 1.0 2012/10/03

/r -> fetch EC ROM code.

/u -> plugged USBOFF tool. as USBOFF.exe

/cx -> wait x(0~9) second(s) to do Coldboot.

/hx -> wait x(0~9) second(s) to do sHutdown.

/s -> update Special ROM type, as MXIC

/i -> don't check EC ID code.

/ad -> Autoload Disable

/an -> Autoload oN

/af -> Autoload oFF

/p -> stay in DOS

My disassembler Skills aren't very good, so I don't find the correct parameter or programm path to activate this subroutine from elash11.exe, but it sounds good: Flash Memory Download Utility for 2'nd EC <<< for SECOND EC!! ;)

maybe its just a flag or something like that, to pass by the command line.

Greetings

Hi Prema,

Seems you hve done a great job, but just a question ( may be stupid) is it possible with ur mod bios to overclock my I7 3630Qm on my 370em? If its possible , what can i expect ?

Thanks

Pat

If you flash prema's BIOS you can overclock it around 5%.

Good morning!

I am Brazilian and newcomer to the forum and loved the organization and the people who are part of this community.

I updated the BIOS of my notebook Clevo P151em1 using the files provided by PREMA, but not released many features as I expected, for example, can not do the overclocking BIOS. The MOD PREMA (BIOS) is still under development by the BIOS for overclocking?

(Google tradutor... Sorry)

Hi Prema,

first of all thanks for your great work.

I have one question: is there anything that could be done regarding battery/charging policies? For Clevo in general or for specific models.

- don't start changing before battery drops below X%

- do not charge at all

Is this even a bios thing?

Regard,

Robert

Prema!

Prema!

I understand what you're saying by Russian ... :-)

I want to upgrade my CPU nouta Clevo P170HM. Now I have a 2860QM, 2960XM , and I want to put disperse .

I understand by reading the posts that raise the TDP and Turbo Boost to increase the time to 16 seconds by standard methods ( via Intel XTU) I can not.

That this is only possible by flashing on model types BIOS (modded Bios versions by Prema), m, e you modified ....

Is that right?

I have asked you ... do me a BIOS for my Clevo P170HM!!!!

I would be very grateful ...

Sergei

P.S Well, in addition ......

I have now stands BIOS V 1.01.10 EC_KBC V 1.00.09 sewed back SLIC 2.1 ( to activate Win7 :-)))

- It is impossible to make a mod already out of this option? With already sewn SLIC 2 . 1 ?

Hi mate, mysn just released a modified EC for w230st on notebookreview forum, is it safe to flash it over your modded bios ?

Here's the link : ***Official Clevo W230ST/Sager NP7330 Owner's Lounge***** - Page 58

Their last EC didn't stop the burst and it didn't end very well for my Notebook either, so I am not eager to try this one, be my guest. ;)

With the Mod your Notebook now supports Intel XTU Utility to enable Overclocking:

Charging is controller by the EC, which I will no longer touch as the last one bricked my board. ;)

Really ? Is it the one that bricked your board ? Damn, I was wise to ask first then =D

That's crazy, they are reseller so I would have expected they don't release something that can generate RMA....

I wouldn't blame mySN's update but Clevo's contractor who made it...this is the readme of mySN update:

The EC update 1.00.04TR improves the fan control of the XMG P303 significantly.

All units shipped after September 1st, 2013 are already equipped with this update.

If your XMG P303 has been shipped before September 1st, 2013 your machine could benefit from this update as well.

Unfortunately there is an important thing to know: depending on each unit it might happen that you cannot boot up your XMG P303 after the EC update for several hours. This is due to a temporary sensor readout error which produces a false warning and emergency shutdown, accompanied by loud BIOS beep codes.

This sensor error disappear after a couple of hours and does not come back again.

Please follow these instructions:

1. Make sure you have power supply and battery attached.

2. Copy the EC update files to a boot-able USB stick with MS-DOS and boot it.

3. Proceed with the update by running ECflash.bat

4. The XMG P303 will reboot automatically.

5. If the machine proceeds with auto-shutdown and beep-codes, you will have to turn if off and leave it like that for about 6 hours before booting it again.

If the notebook still does not boot after up to 24 hours, please contact technical support.

To create a bootable USB stick with MS-DOS, please follow these instructions:

Bios-boot-usb-stick - Howto: BIOS-Update per bootable USB-Stick - biosflash.com

Schenker Technologies,

Friday, Oktober 10th, 2013

I think the update is save if done properly, but I am not sure about downgrading the EC or BIOS afterwards to the older version

Thank you!

I tried overclocking using the software mentioned but I got no success. My processor is already at maximum (22x) ... I'll get drastic alternatives, haha (discard the processor in the trash)

Only 3720QM and above can be overclocked (Intel Limits). But you can raise the BCLK for all CPUs (and RAM) to about 105Mhz in Intel XTU.

Hi Prema Thanks for all your hard work, I have a question.. I don't know how possible is but is possible to make clevo P150EM board compatible with wireless card with IEEE 802.11ac ?

I am not aware of any problems with ac cards.

Yoshigure,

You should be fine with the AC cards, i'm running an intel ac-7260, many others are too. No issues :)

Good to know :) to get the advantage of AC card I need first to update my router N to ac right ? I need to wait a little bit for that.. to get a little more of my 100mb internet..

How powerful is the AC wireless cards for now ?
