Hi guys

I am planning to install the modded bios soon. so, have a few questions.

1.I am running windows from an MSATA drive. Will this cause any problem when I install the modded bios?

2. is it possible to go back to stock Bios if there is some problem later?

3. which is the best wifi card in your opinion?

cheers,

MJ

1. No

2. Yes

3. Intel AC 7260, but be sure to use WLAN Optimizer (http://www.martin-majowski.de/) with both 'disable background scan' and 'enable streaming mode' checked to prevent ping spikes caused by Intel's POS drivers.

I am so frustrated with Lenovo ... is there a listing of all the companies that do this?  I'm starting to look for a new laptop and don't want to find myself limited by this stupid corporate moneymaking scheme.

My information could be outdated but as far as I know, MSI, Acer, and Asus don't have the whitelist bs.

Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Toshiba who are still doing it.

I'm looking at the changelog between v3.05 and V3.08 and the only thing I can find is:

Quote

Summary of changes
==================
General Information:

74CN47WW
1. Implement code for uEFI security vulnerabilities.

Is it worth to mod the v3.08 or just go with v3.05?

Hello

I think I have bricked by y500. I flashed the whitelisted bios according to the instruction. Now when the laptop powers on, the keyboard led starts, the fans starts and the display stays black. Laptop does not boot into an OS.

Can someone help me fix this

Thanks a lot

I am still running into error 104, even with the fix in first post. I need to add these two to fparts:

    W25Q32BV    ID:0xEF4016    Size: 4096KB (32768Kb)
    MX25L1605A    ID:0xC22015    Size: 2048KB (16384Kb)

Anyone able to help?
