techanalyst
So I updated to the VBios in this thread http://forum.techinferno.com/alienware/2658-%5Bm14x-r2%5D-%5Bm17x-r4%5D-%5Bm18x-r2%5D-uefi-fast-boot-secure-boot-gpu-issues-%2Asolved%2A-2.html both cards were updated and now whenever I go to enable SLI the system will restart and when entering windows it acts like it doesn't have drivers installed. Help? These are the 680Ms direct from dell
Founder Brian Posted January 9, 2013 Founder Share Posted January 9, 2013 @svl7 will be the one to assist you since he unlocked the bios. Try flashing back to the standard vbios if you can't fix it.
techanalyst
Reinstalling windows from scratch cleared up the problem, possibly hardware address issue or something regarded, because I uninstalled all vid drivers and tried four versions with same result, reinstall windows install latest drivers everything is good again. svl7
I'm glad to hear that you have been able to solve it!
techanalyst
Yeah sorry for pointing out the vbios might have been the issue, however it seemed logical, starting with single discrete everything was awesome, enabling SLI and on reboot acted like no drivers were installed at all (Either card). I for sure though that removing the drivers 100%, restoring to a point before I put drivers in for the cards at all, no network so no auto download etc all this in my mind pointed to this on change, but as I said reinstall windows from scratch cleared it all up
sy5tem
re-install was a bit drastic no? i mean cleaning all drivers first then rebooting and reinstalling drivers would have been my first try, but anyways, your happy now? hehe good thing.. naldor
Well as drastic as it was, it worked, and installing windows doesnt take that long tbh .
