I had my 2133 Mhz RAM working in the EliteBook 8470p with an i5 3340m. Then I upgraded the CPU to an i7 3610qm and the RAM did not work with the new CPU. So I think, the CPU could have a problem with the 2133 Mhz ram. 1867 Mhz RAM worked then with the "new" i7 CPU.

Hi, I see you upgraded the cpu to quad i7. I want to ask that except put the cpu into the socket, do you need to do something else, like upgrade the power adapter, bios...? Mine is f21, do I need higher version?

Just bought this item from aliexpress, seller said it is compatible with 2570p:

..

But currently it is not detected on device manager. Running latest Win10 and bios.

Any suggestions?

Is your WWAN card in the 2570P whitelist athttps://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/1982-125-hp-elitebook-2570p-owners-lounge/&page=10#comment-60111

If not, consider getting one of those listed cards instead or wiring say your docking connector USB pins to your WLAN slot to gain an unwhitelisted port and use it there instead as done by @invait53 at https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/1982-125-hp-elitebook-2570p-owners-lounge/&page=47#comment-132577

Hi yes it is un2430. Finally, I don't know why, I just unplug and replug the cable and then it showed up on device manager. I'm using windows 8.1 driver.

What more interesting is, I reinstall my Windows 10 (latest anniversary ISO) and then windows detect the card automatically when I setting up user account (before login to windows for the first time)!

Well you'll also need to reapply thermal paste (duh). BIOS upgrade isn't necessary, but I'd do so if possible, just to be safe.

Also quoting invait53-san:

@egpuer, I bought 4-cores processor three years ago and don't remember what bios I had but now the bios is F.63. I use 90w power adaptor.

The last one is VERY IMPORTANT: Use a 90W power adapter. The 65W one isn't enough for quad core 2570p, which has been discussed before.

I would like to ask what is the best wifi card to this model without any modification, 7260N? And also similar question wit wwan card (european frequency) ?

Don't know about wifi card, but for wwan card you can take a look at this http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c04123334.pdf?ver=20

Mine is UN2430 (Sierra/Gobi3000) and works perfectly well on Windows 10. It's only $12.5 on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/131863483792?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

My i5-3320m arrived yesterday and i replaced the i7.

So I can comfirm that the memory controller inside i7-3632qm can't handle the 2133MHz RAM.

i5-3320m booted with my 2133MHz RAM just fine and it is working fine.

I use this notebook very rare and the hardest task is Diablo III.

So, what do you think guys - which combo should I choose i7-3632qm+1600 RAM or i5-3320m+2133 RAM?

I think I answered myself. :)

Something maybe of interest to 2570P owners ...

A customized HP Elitebook 8460P with OSX  is now being sold as a Hacbook Elite, a Macbook equivalent for 1/3 of the price.

Can see the marketting at http://hacbook.com/

Worth noting can build yourself  a "Hacbook Elite" with the better HP Elitebook 8470P (more efficient 3rd gen CPU,  no-whitelist WLAN, USB 3.0)  for even less.

Yeah, I just saw same on a IT news internet magazine.

I tried MacOS on my 2570p and it was working great.

But I was not able to successfully configure triple boot - MacOS/Win/Linux.

Well, it was booting but not every time... :)

Indeed. And for present owners? We got the HDMI and VGA port working too at: http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8926-hp-elitebook-2560p-10114-with-clover-odd-hdmi-not-working/page-3 ... infact this just has motivated to write a detailed installation tutorial and release my bootpack for 'vanilla' OSX. ETA? Oh I dunno ready when it's ready :)

Hi,

I want to add another fan to my Elitebook. But the fan does not start with 5V, does anybody know a point, where I could solder the fan connector on to get 7V or 12V?

I checked already the sata connector, but there I get also only 5V.

Thanks!

EDIT: I soldered the fan on the 5V from the SATA Port.I think on the mainboard are no 12V lines, only 5V and 3.3V lines. The only thing with more than 5V are the batteries. Maybe it's possible to get from the batteries a voltage over 5V. But now the fan runs great :-).

data only 5V. Fixed the problem.

Hi, is it true that you cannot use/activate WWAN card when battery is not attached?
I removed the battery, and powered on using power adapter only, modem is not detected/listed in device manager.

Sound not logical to me. My model doesn't have one so I can't confirm :(

UPDATE: New modified ME firmware file that works for Tech Inferno Fan, since this one didn't, is located here: http://forum.techinferno.com/hp-business-class-notebooks/2537-12-5-hp-elitebook-2570p-owners-lounge-41.html#post79212

Good day, recently i managed to take hold of a 2570p and would like to ask whether this mod would work with the newer bioses and whether the newer f.6x bioses have any restrictions compared to older bios revisions that may make them undesirable to upgrade to from bios f.44 which my notebook currently have.

Its been found that hp systems require individual mods done for each individual system. You meed to dump your own me fw and mod that, but you make all the same changes that you see in Tech Inferno Fan's mod in the ICC section. I can look it over when you are done to make sure you didn't miss anything.

thank you very much for the quick response. is it worthwhile to upgrade to upgrade from f.44 to f.64 bios ? the newer bios have some fixes but i haven't seen confirmation whether the newer bios retains the broken whitelist for wlan.

I am not that familiar with HP whitelisting so unfortunately I do not know the answer to that.
