Whats wrong with my Y580 -.-

Without OC all is fine. If i want to set the GPU +5Mhz the Physx Score fall down to 6000 (Same Situation when i set the Memory Clock +15 MHZ )..

It doesn,t matter if i use Nvidia Inspector or, Msi Afterburner

I have installed the 2.07 modded Bios, did i use another ??

Don´t understand this Problem -.-

Did you flash the same bios version as you already had on your machine?

crap, probably not. Any advice?

Edit:

Found another guy who did the same thing, trying your advice you gave him. Will report back.

trying the fn +b method

the system did not turn on on it's own. I held it for about a minute or 2 and now it's just chain beeping from the PC speaker...

any advice?

Edit:

ok So I'm retarded even more so. It started beeping for a while, then I unplugged it, like a moron instead of waiting for it to reboot., now it won't turn on at all =( Did I brick it? is there any way to get it to turn back on?

Hey svl7,

I go back to your 2.06 unlocked Bios and here i could OC my Nvidia 660m without loosing Physx Performance.

Have you any Idea, why on the 2.07 Bios the OC don´t work correctly ?

Here´s the link to the 3DMark on Bios 2.06

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,LENOVO Product Name score: P2900 3DMarks

GPU : +135

Well looks like I'm mailing in to Lenovo to get it fixed =( unless someone else has an idea.

Now, when i get it back, will flashing this bios put me on the v8.0x firmware? How do I know which version to flash? 8.0, 8.01, 2.0x, etc.

I'm guessing since this bricked that means I was on the 2.0x bios?

Thanks!

I have another Question ? ist it normal that CUDA is not checked in GPU-Z by the Nvidia 660m ??

I have directly installed the nvidia 314.07 Driver ? is that the Problem ?

Also my PC is in 3D Mark much faster with bios 2.06 then with 2.07(with 1000mhz clock) ... ???

Don´t know whats wrong -.-

Here a post from GPU-Z (Rendering activ)

I have a y480 with BIOS 8.00 (5DCN89WW). Will the modified 8.00 (5DCN90WW) bios work on it?

Ah crap, I messed up the naming scheme... v8.00 is 5DCN89WW, I mistakenly labelled it as 5DCN90WW... So yes, if you have v8.00 you can safely use my (slightly mislabeled) mod (v8.00 in your case).

ok So I'm retarded even more so. It started beeping for a while, then I unplugged it, like a moron instead of waiting for it to reboot., now it won't turn on at all =( Did I brick it? is there any way to get it to turn back on?

Yeah, now you definitely got a problem.

I can only repeat myself and advice you to read the instructions carefully, and if you still have questions then, ask here - before flashing.

Just got my system, it shipped with Win8 and the 8.01 BIOS. I swapped out the HDD with an 840 Pro SSD. Just want to make sure this won't cause any issues flashing the mod, can anyone confirm?

edit: Alright that process was much simpler than I had imagined, thanks a lot slv7! Amazing what following instruction can do. Will be ordering a 6205 today and buying you a beer sir!

Was wondering if there was a general fix for Error 28? I'm getting the same thing...

EDIT: Was forgetting to run prr.exe . Works perfect so far! Can't wait to throw my 6205 in. Thanks so much!

Hello, sorry I have a Nvidia 640m LE, and bios 2.03 (5DCN40WW) could try Lenovo Y580 / Y480 BIOS v2.07 (5DCN40WW) unlocked? Thank's for the job

No you will brick your comp. Download the official 2.07 from lenovo and update your bios to 2.07 first.
