Michael is having trouble with his recently arrived M17x-R3. Probably just a backlog and you're getting the same issue with the M11x.

Well let me share a quick story about our M17x-R1, we got our laptop no problem and one day a month later decided to call Alienware with questions about the sound card. Lo and behold our system Service tag and express service code is not in the system at all. I had to spend 2 days on the phone with a Dell Rep in order to add the Service Tag and express service code into the system. o.O

This seems to be common on Alienware systems, so if you don't get tag on website to register get on the phone ASAP, this is not a glitch in the system

Note they will not be able to do it on the weekends, so the sooner you call the sooner you will get this issue resolved.

It's strange these tags aren't already in the system. John T welcome to the forum and may I say congrats. Cool that you own an M11x an M17x R2 and are receiving an M18x!

As sad as it is, my warranty for my r3 is expiring here in a couple months... Its been a long time coming having toasted 3 motherboards since my original purchase in 2011.

Three toasted motherboards. Was it due to intense gaming or overclocking. Very curious to know why it has been toasted 3 times. I wouldn't want that happening to my soon to be acquired M11X R3.

I got a new M11x R3 i3 with 2GB in Dec 2011 for work. The idea being to use it as a secondary laptop to my main one, for testing LAN ports, working up ladders at comms cabinets, etc. I was not expecting it to be so heavy! I have found it to be a bit sluggish but have not done much with it as I rarely use it. I've assuned that this was down to all the Alienware stuff installed.

Has anyone used it with Windows 8.1?
