Morning All, thought i would give this a go this morning and unfortunately cannot get past the first step -

Anybody have any ideas what I can do - im on a medion x6823 (copy of ms-16f3)

My bios is here, it has been unlocked and I was thinking that maybe now I have all the advanced options in the bios that I may have a setting to set the flash descriptor overide (gonna make a vid of my bios and upload to YT) -

Here is youtube vid:

The bits are already set for bclk overclocking.

Instead of 10000 just write something like 10100.

But you should try first playing with bclk in Intel XTU, it looks safer to me.

Don't know how your computer/bIOS will react to failed overclocking, but if it doesn't reset the settings you will be caught in a POST loop and you will have to take out the CMOS battery I guess.

So, play it safe first...

I cannot change bclk, look in prevois photo at max bclk it is set to 100 and min is 100.. Any idea why this is ?

Oh, I got it.

In that case you need a modified ME just like the one Khenglish built for me.

The proper comamand to dump your ME and the results of it can be seen here:

Does this works for you?

I get this error on 2nd step in windows and in dos
2.
So you'll first need to dump your ME FW image. This is done by running fptw64 in windows or fpt in DOS. It needs to be run in a cmd window with admin rights. The command to do so is "fptw64 -d imagename", where imagename is whatever name you want for your flash imagedump. Prema found out that at least on Clevos, attempting to dump only the ME FW leaves out the clock control segment, so you need to dump the whole flash image. Note that you're also getting the flash descriptor when you dump everything, so you can edit it to not require the flash descriptor override to do any flash imagereads and writes.

Maybe I need to change a setting in bios to allow r/w access ??

Had to use another tool from another forum to unlock overclocking in "Intel ME"

Place attached file on root of bootable usb key and type the following command without quotes "me_port.com"

Here is the file - File deleted due to msi emailing me saying it is not for public use.....

Take a look and see if you can see what it is doing ? Took two seconds for me and reboot...

This is a MSI utility that works for you because you have a medion x6823 (copy of ms-16f3). Output of ME_port.com is shown below. Does nothing in a HP Elitebook.

So what error do you get when trying to dump with FTP?

Also you can just flash a modified BIOS and run ME_unlock for your system.

I can't flash and all the tools be it dos or windows all error out with.

Intel ® Flash Programming Tool. Version: 7.1.20.1119

Copyright © 2007-2011, Intel Corporation. All rights reserved.

Platform: Intel® HM67 Express Chipset Revision: Unknown

Reading HSFSTS register... Flash Descriptor: Valid

--- Flash Devices Found ---

Doesn't matter if i use the Unlockers either same thing. I can't even flash to it. So it looks like its lock down tight how ever i have noticed that the 4MB bios file has the ME firmware in it so here is the .xml file of that with a .30R bios

MS-16F2ME.zip

So hopefully this will help ya out on the MS-16F2
