Hey all!

I have AW m17x R4 with 7970m graphics, I am thinking of changing to GTX 1060. I've been reading a lot and I had the following doubts:

1. I currently have BIOS A15, is it necessary to unlock it?
2. My screen is 60hz (not 3D) is it necessary to change it?
3. Should I update the vBios on the graphics card I bought (GTX 1060 MXM)?
4. How can I generate the nvdmi.inf adapted to my serial ID?

Thank you very much for all the information I read.

Ok, the 120hz screen is needed, I will continue looking to upgrade to 980.

Hello Klem,

I currently have a M17xR4 with a GTX 675m (lots of crash with windows 10 and had it disabled for 3 years) and I would require an unlocked A12 BIOS as I am planning to upgrade to 880m/980m.

PFB linked for my current A12 bios:

Thanks in advance :alien:

6 beeps indicates a failed GPU. If you have the original card then try that again to see if the system works. If it does then the 1070 is probably faulty.
