Roland83
Hi, a few weeks ago i bought an Asus GL707ZC Notebook. On this Series there is always a strange failure and i wan´t to know what is causing the problem. Asus never gave an answer or tips, always replaced the mainboard. It is an used Laptop with a faulty fan control. When i switch the Laptop on, both fan´s start to spinning at 100% and there running at full speed all the time. It´s just like when a jet is starting and they make o lot of noise. The bad thing is that it´s not possible to take control over the fans with a program. I´ve contacted a Laptop repair store in germany and the owner says that the control over the fan´s is controlled by the GPU (AMD RX580). He means that the temperature sensor is faulty so that the GPU is sending wrong signals to the fan´s. Only solution is to replace the mainboard or the GPU. I have installed windows with a clean install and after all updates and driver installations i take a look at the temperatures on CPU and GPU. The Temperature are on idle 33° on CPU and GPU. Measured with GPU Z. So, i think that the GPU Temperature sensor is OK and not faulty. Then i stressed the laptop with prime and furmark and the temp´s are going to 65° +-3° on GPU and GPU. The fan´s are not throttling down or switching the speed´s, the are running with full speed. Only good thing is that the temperatures are very low Could it be that the GPU BIOS is faulty and this could cause this error or another part on the mainboard that is broken? The rest of this laptop is working very well and it´s having a lot of power. The Asus GL702ZC is a desktop hardware notebook with AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU and AMD RX580 GPU with 4GB Vram
Mactire
Hi Roland86, I have the same laptop as you and have the the EXACT same problem. I have tried all of the suggested fixes with BIOS updates, Windows re-install and even today I changed the thermal paste. Nothing has worked for me, fans are still always at 100% after startup. Have you had any success in finding out a solution? I have my laptop for 3 years now so it is long out of warranty. Thanks

Roland83
This issue is hardware related. The repair shop i sent this unit did mean that this could only be fixed be replacing the gpu.
