MikeInSATX
I bought a pair of M17xR3's new several years ago to use as gaming laptops. I've upgraded them to 32 GB RAM and 512GB SSDs, but I'm still running the original 802.11 a/b/g/n card. My router recently died, so I bought an ASUS RT-AX58U, and I'd like to take advantage of the 802.11ax capabilities. I've looked at the Killer and intel ax cards, but they have the m.2 interface. Has anyone attempted this upgrade? Is there some sort of adapter to allow the m.2 wifi cards to use the Mini PCI wifi slot? Thanks in advance for your help! dfir_dk
I cannot answer your question, but also please note if the laptop has the proper amount of antennas for the other WiFi NIC. Not sure if there is any difference, but it might be worth investigating.
