How to "unlock" the WLAN card mini-PCIe slot on W350SS?

I want to install a mini-PCIe to SATA adapter into the WLAN card mini-PCIe slot on my Clevo W350SS, but it seems that this specific slot can only support WLAN cards. I tried this adapter and a mini-PCIe to USB adapter, they both didn't work (they worked well on the other one mini-PCIe slot).

Is there any way to  "unlock" this slot and make it useful? Like flashing a custom BIOS, but I'm a totally noob on this, not sure where to find them.
