I have a Lenovo T540p that I wound like to be able to disable the dedicated GPU. Are you able to activate that option? They removed the option to disable optimus several years ago. Oh yeah and if it is possible to enable options to disable optimus,  pls whitelist and unlock advanced setting too.

Thank you.

Hi!

If you will try to disable Intel graphic card, then laptop will start with black/blank screen, because in your laptop model screen directly connected to Intel graphic card, it's hardware design for this laptop model. It's hardware design for Optimus technology. Look at the image below.

Oh, okay.

That’s a shame.

Thank you very much for explaining this to me.

I've uploaded my BIOS here, if you could remove the whitelist and unlock advanced menu items (if that's possible?) that would be great thank you <3
https://gofile.io/?c=Oq2jpA

I tried modifying the BIOS myself -- opened it in UEFITool, extracted the necessary image section body, then opened this in both radare2 with Cutter GUI and in Ghidra and was able to find the relevant string, but neither could seem to find any references to it in the rest of the code? I'm not sure if it was just issues with the analysis options I was choosing, or if IDA just tends to be better for this kind of work still, but any tips would also be appreciated (:

Hello, I have a T440s with BIOS version 2.51, a few days ago I tried to remove the Bios password by doing a tutorial in which I made a short on pins 5 and 6 of the chip during boot to disable the boot password verification and power change the password of the bios. After some unsuccessful attempts the laptop stopped loading the bios and the screen remains permanently black, I do not know if it damages the chip or the data of the bios, but through the CH341A programmer I get a backup of the bios, I hope that can you help me

https://www.dropbox.com/s/zsm8rxgbogv29na/bios original thinkpad t440s.rar?dl=0

Try installing a new Bios (I found version 2.35v) and the computer is already booting, but it gives me two errors
0271: real time clock error
0183: Bad CRC of security settings in EFI variable.
I can not get through the bios.

My laptop asks for a fingerprint at startup, my fingerprint is set, so that's not a problem.

And would it be possible to repair the bios even if you keep the password? I only want the laptop to start the system ... if it is not possible, thank you very much anyway

Hi!

Yes, it's right device, but price from your link is too expensive. To order SPI programmer and SOIC8 clip, you can use links from the first page of this thread.

In this thread you can post your requests for Lenovo ThinkPad X250, X260.
If someone wants upgrade Wi-Fi card and remove whitelist, or unlock hidden additional menus and settings in bios setup menu, then you can post your request in this thread.
      Important!
For creating your personal bios dump and to flash your bios mod, you must use any SPI programmer  (like CH341A programmer) and a SOIC8/SOP8 test clip!

Just dump your Bios using any SPI programmer  (like CH341A programmer) and a SOIC8/SOP8 test clip, then post it in this thread or upload it to any fileserver and send me the link.

      CH341A programmer:
      https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Programmer-CH341A-Series-Burner-Chip-24-EEPROM-BIOS-Writer-25-SPI-Flash-AU/153117073868?epid=577511738&hash=item23a67d21cc:g:XKEAAOSw5UdbW-iL

      SOIC8/SOP8 test clip:

      How to use it:

Also, you can search on YouTube a lot of guide for CH341a.

      Note:
Each bios mod prepare personally and based on your personal bios dump which contain your personal data like Serial numbers, UUID, Service TAG, MAC addresses, Windows keys, NVRAM settings, etc.
For creating your personal bios dump and to flash bios mod, you need use any SPI programmer  (like CH341A programmer) and a SOIC8/SOP8 test clip!
Just dump your Bios (from your laptop) using any SPI programmer  (like CH341A programmer) and a SOIC8/SOP8 test clip, then post it in this thread or upload it to any fileserver and send me the link.
