Will it require individual dump

Hi!

Just read the first post of this thread. To unlock your bios, as first step, you need to read your bios chip with hardware SPI programmer.

Klem, Can the BIOS be updated if I flash a modified bios? I mean if I flash a custom bios and there's an update in the official bios and I want to flash it and read it and dump it back, and then flash it again after mod, will that be possible?

I have a T540p with bios locked by supervisor password.
Any possibility to remove that pass and  then the whitelist and unlock extended settings?
I already have all the hw neened to dump firmware (programmer and clip).
only i don't know were exactly is the firmware chip in the T540p.

And if i first delete password in another way?
Then whitelist and other settings are possible?
Where i can find a "map" of T540p mobo to locate firmware chip?

Hi!

No, if you will upgrade your CPU, then you don't need reflash bios, all should work without any problems.

Hi Klem,

I would like to get access to hidden options in BIOS and upgrade the WiFi card as well. My laptop is T540p 20BE - 20BEC00CCMS. I have uploaded the dump of SPI1 and SPI2 chip, screenshot of the CH341A programmer while reading both chips, bios screen and photo of both chips. For some reason the names of chips didn't match the names in the program. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W3XPv8UvedMi60cJ-JNNsBUB3fbOD7ka/view?usp=sharing

Thanks.

Please contact the target System BIOS vendor for an option to disable Protected Range Registers.
