Y510p Bios / EC for EEPROM Programmer

I just ordered a USB programmer and I'm going to attempt to flash my bricked bios without removing the two chips. I don't want to risk damaging the board by soldering.

Does anyone have a suitable copy of the bios suitable for flashing to the Winbond 16 (EC) and Winbond 32 (Bios) chips.

Ideally I want to use the modded bios to put in a 5Ghz band WiFi card but for now any version will do as it is currently bricked.

Hi, i am interested in how this works out.

I too have a bricked motherboard as a result of flashing. It came second-hand with a very old bios version and i tried to update it.

There seams to be a couple of websites that provide the EC and BIOS files but they are behind a subscription. In the end I sent my motherboard back for the seller to re-soldier me some new chips but at first he did mention that if I buy a heat gun and a cheap programmer I could probably do this myself. The other option would be to find someone selling a pair pre-programmed chips, which from what i see are not much more expensive than subscribing to get the bios files.

I hope all goes well for you
