New Clevo P775DM2-G overheating?

Hi Everyone!

First time posting here. I just purchased a Metabox laptop, with the following specs. Usage is mostly video editing with light gaming. I've only ever had desktops before and I'm pretty tech savvy, but I've never had a laptop of this calibre before so I'm unsure as to whether or not this behaviour is normal.

I've just installed the game Playerunknown's battlegrounds and as soon as the game loads up the laptop goes into overdrive! It turns into a jet engine and the exhausts at the back start churning out really intense heat. Is this normal? I daren't run the game past the menu screen due to this. I know laptops get hotter than desktops, but this seems quite extreme. I've only had it a week or so and haven't got into video editing yet. But this seems pretty crazy for a game.

I'm running the latest drivers.

Specs are as follows:

Metabox Prime-X P775DM2-G

i7-7700K

GTX 1080

Samsung 960 PRO 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD

2x 1TB 7200RPM

32GB DDR4 RAM 2400 MHz

Any help appreciated.

Thank you!

Hey, im about a week away from buying this exact model. I called metabox about this models cooling. They said that this model's cpu is made to run hot, and can run up to 100 degrees with out damage. Over that you'll have problems. But the normal temperatures are 80 degrees but going to 90 when really pushing it. They said some of the more intense heat can come from the GTX 1080, the 1060 delivers less heat. Just reporting what they said. Let me know how you go with this.
