asus gl502vt bios unlock needed

Hello everybody,

I am the unfortunate owner of an Asus gl502vt and this laptop sometimes speed up the fan so much that I have received lots of complaints from my colleagues as I work in a quiet environment.

I have tried everything and this happens no matter what OS I use, linux or windows work equally bad in this regard.

I have looked everywhere, updated the bios to the last available version and changed so many linux distros but nothing worked so far.

I suspect that the thermal policies are very restrictive and maybe I could change them if the bios was fully unlocked, I mean, 4200rpm with 40 degrees C is just nuts.

I now that I am a complete stranger in this forum and I am here just for this particular issue since my interests are not too much related to computers by themselves, but if someone could give me a hand trying to figure out how to solve my issue...well, that would be awesome!

I haven't got much to offer to your community, but if someone is into electronics I published an instructable to build an IR receiver that works with any infrared transmitter:

http://www.instructables.com/id/ATtiny85-IR-USB-Receiver/

Btw, you can find my current bios in the link below:

Thanks in advance

Hi!

Mod BIOS don't help in your case, because fun settings placed in EC firmware, no in BIOS. I can recommend you to try use NoteBook FanControl (NBFC) software.
