DIY thunderbolt connection

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is it possible to make an e-GPU over thunderbolt without akitio node or something like that?

Or is there an other way without opening your laptop?

I ask this because I found them very expensive.

I search a lot on the internet but I found nothing that can help me. I think that what I need is a datasheet of the thunderbolt chips (wich you can find on ebay) or a schedule with the in- and outputs of the chip. Once I have that I can try to make a schedule with the connections between thunderbolt chip and pci-e slot. Then I can buy it and try to make it.

Thanks in advance
