ststeve
Hey there! I'm so glad to find this forum! I'm happy there's someone like you out there helping frustrated lenovo laptop owners. Can I have my bios unlocked too please? I have a Lenovo z710 with BIOS version 7FCN96WW. I'm sending you the results along with the BIOS setup file I used to upgrade to... Please unlock everything you can. I want to be able to control fan speed and raise the thermal throttle limit... Thanks in advance. https://www.sendspace.com/filegroup/cyef5M0aV8ERsaH9xUdmyA Edited October 30, 2019 by ststeve

blubb
@ststeve If you find a way to change the throttle limit, tell us. I tried many settings, but my Z710 keeps throttling at 85 degrees.

Are you sure that Intel (VMX) Virtualization Technology disabled in bios? If you sure, then Download this tool: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4NHIBM...RtQXM/viewExtract the archive H2OUVE.rar directly on the Desktop and copy the H2OUVE folder directly on the disk C:\ Then run the Command prompt as Administrator and execute these commands: cd \ cd H2OUVE H2OUVE.exe -gv vars.txt After each command press the Enter button. After that, you'll have the file "vars.txt" in H2OUVE folder.Post here this file "vars.txt" or upload it to any fileserver and send me the link.

dt1
Hello everyone Could I also get a whitelist-free BIOS for Z510? If it is OK I have one question before I post dump files. In general, sometimes it is recommended to have the latest BIOS version installed. But sometimes latest versions are better to be avoided, as they are harder to work with, use additional protection, or sometimes introduce some kinds of problems. My current version is 8DCN37WW, and the latest version is 8DCN40WW. The question is - is it OK to upgrade, then dump files and modify the latest BIOS (v40), or is it better to keep my current version (v37), dump it and modify it? Are there any good reasons not to upgrade to the latest version before modding? Thanks Edited November 11, 2019 by dt1

You can update your bios to any new version from Lenovo website and then we can unlock it.

dt1
Thank You for the mod and very detailed instructions. Flashing was successful, new BIOS options appeared. Didn't check new wireless card yet, but I will in the next few days, when I get it. Once again - big thanks.
