danielbrown941
Hi all,I'm having some problems with my setup when using the eGPU in OS X. Running any intensive games or benchmarks causes a kernel panic, as seen below. The setup is using a reference GTX 660 inside an Akitio box, powered by a barrel plug connected to a 300W PSU. I don't recall having any instability issues in Windows, although I have re-installed the whole system and not used bootcamp for a number of weeks now.Does anybody have any ideas about what this could be? I'm tempted to upgrade the card in the hope that it will resolve the problems, but am reluctant to spend £300+ to find the same issue occurs.Anonymous UUID: 196D92EF-CF6A-8DCF-57AD-5102FA398F58Sat Sep euqlaog
@danielbrown941:Seems that you installed the script with -url option. OS X 10.11 web driver is beta. What happens if you try the following:1) sudo ./automate-eGPU.sh -uninstall2) Restart3) sudo ./automate-eGPU.sh -skipdriver4) Restart
danielbrown941
@goalqueAfter uninstalling it booted without my 2 monitors attached to eGPU, second reboot had all monitors & claims to be running nVidia web driver 346.03.01b07.Ran the Heaven benchmark again and it still crashed, but got a different kernel error:Anonymous UUID: 196D92EF-CF6A-8DCF-57AD-5102FA398F58Sun Sep 27 13:44:56 danielbrown941
@goalqueIgnore my last post, I just did the steps again and realised the first time I clicked quit on the nVidia uninstaller, so your script removed the kexts. Just booted without the web-driver this time and all monitors are working. Will run the benchmarking again and see if it crashes.

uchy74
Tried some fancy installation with Ubuntu at the weekend with the aim to run OSX and Windows in VM's and use qemu-kvm to perform pcie-passthrough. In the end I managed to corrupt all OS's on the disk and started again. I'm looking to hopefully use OSX as my primary OS, but noticed very poor fps performance last night when trying to play League of Legends. It seems I'm getting better performance when using the OS X drivers, not the nVidia Web Driver. As the OS X drivers are for AMD on this machine, I assume this means that the m370x is powering the external display. I'm finding debugging very difficult without a nice utility like GPU-Z.I'll be posting some additional updates/benchmarks tonight and hopefully I can get to the bottom of this. How to désactive the 370m ? I have this macbook but my external cg is not reconize to Windows 10 refind work on Windows 10?

haniabaya
Good day @Tech Inferno Fan, I sent you an Email about my case and appreciate every help you can assist me with. But thats not why iam here, my quesition is, do i need "DIY eGPU Setup 1.30". a lot of people told me that i need it but iam not sure. i read all of that :encounter Windows error 12:cannot allocate resources requiring automated PCI Reallocation or IGP relocation. Note: Win7/8 users may want to try a simpler 36-bit root bridge DSDT override instead of using Setup 1.30.-> i dont habe this Error but i have worse than it. Black Screen ( sent you everything in private message.)want to use x1E/x2E/x2/x4 higher performance pci-e links (x1E/x2E on Series-4 or older, x2/x4 on Series-5 or older chipsets)-> Yes i bought GTX 970want to set pci-e 1.0 (2.5GT/s) or pci-e 2.0 (5GT/s) link speed (Series-6 or newer chipset).-> Yes if possiblerequire mPCIe anti-whitelisting (HP/Lenovo) to allow a wifi slot to work with a PM3N-> i have Acer aspire V3-772gwant to disable a dGPU in a hybrid graphics system to free up resources to host the eGPU-> Is that even possible with acer ? because i dont have that option at all at the Bios.want to disable a dGPU in a hybrid graphics system to activate NVidia Optimus and if using a x1 link, engage x1 pci-e compression-> Yes Surewant to initialize a NVidia video card prior to Windows boot to prevent hang/BSOD on startup or error43 in device Manager. Eliminates the need for a standby, attach, resume to overcome this problem.-> its kind of my Problem, i think with the black Screen.I aprreciate every help i could get. iam trying since 3 days and i still cant solve the problem.btw i buy it anyway because its a good work you did there and i may use it at well if its work by me.Thanks

Reboot into Windows, run c:\eGPU\eGPU-setup-mount (as admin) to get V: drive. Then Winzip or Winrar the v:\diag folder, upload the zip/rar file to mediafire.com and email me the link. Tech Inferno Fan
Hi Nando, here´s the link diag_bram1980, thanks and waiting for good news..Your TOLUD=3.49GB. There is no way you can host your iGPU + eGPU within the 32-bit PCI config space with such a high TOLUD setting as locked in by your BIOS.In which case your solutions are as follows:1. Perfom the T430 specific DSDT override as shown by Arteart at http://forum.techinferno.com/diy-e-gpu-projects/7476-%5Bguide%5D-dsdt-override-fix-error-12-a.html#post104793 .2. Install Win8 or newer which allows your eGPU to work regardless of if the iGPU isn't functioning. Then perform a PCI compaction with endpoint=56.25GB, scope=iGPU+eGPU and when asked to force which GPU to 32-bit, say eGPU. Idea there is for the eGPU to hijaak the iGPU 32-bit PCI config space and have the iGPU then error 12. You'd still get x1 pci-e compression but no accelerated internal LCD mode due to no functioning iGPU.If you have any further questions regarding Setup 1.30, pls email me. I am avoiding this thread becoming a long winded troubleshooting process for users.Good luck!
