[Alienware - Clevo - MSI] Aftermarket Upgrades Driver Support - Modded INF

Try the above (2), next Have disk method.

The above still allows the audio driver to be installed. Unlike your previous nv_whql.inf_v347.90_AW_Optimus.zip this one does not allow the audio driver, but it won't install. (gives a failed message) however I am trying the new file regardless.

Black Screen, it seems this new inf your modding has no effect on the actual driver.

Overwrite both INFs (stock) IDs are already included. F8 'Disable driver signing' -> Device Manager -> Display Adapters -> Update Driver -> "Browse MY computer..." -> "Let me pick from a List..." -> Have Disk -> Browse -> nv_whql.inf

Installs fine: provides a black screen .. I'm going to say optimus is out for this driver ..

Intel Driver 10.18.10.3960 isn't listed here so it is not official then...HD Graphics Driver 10.18.10.3960

AW OSD 0.33.0.11C

I'll give this new version a go in the morning. The Intel graphics drivers were downloaded in the Intel update program they supply with the original graphics driver I think. I never went to an outside source for it, but do remember running the Intel update utility.

@Hackintoshihope try installing Intel HD4600 drivers + AW OSD like @jjbettcher's AW17. First official driver from here and then let it update. jjbettcher's AW17 external monitor hooked up 24/7 could also explain his success, try that too. Similar steps + sound card disabled are required to install Win7/UEFI+CSM or full Legacy BIOS Mode/sig >M17xR4/120Hz<

Hey J95. I downloaded your 347.90 Optimus driver and installed it. Installation went fine, but optimus isn't working correctly. System still uses integrated on everything even though "High Performance Processor" is selected in control panel. I've been having this issue with alot of driver and the only one that works fine so far is Mr. Fox's 344.75 driver. I have an Alienware m18x r2 with a single GTX 980M installed. To keep Windows 7 I'm forced to use optimus. Do you guys have any idea whats going on? If I really can't find a solution I'll guess I'll switch to UEFI on Win10TP. Can't stay on 344.75 forever, need dem game profiles when the Witcher 3 comes out lol.

GeForce 347.90 MS Update

*Optimus* AW17 switch to Integrated before installing drivers.

Hi J95 ,

Can you explain to me how to make the 980 m runs M17XR4 configuration signature:

1:

I have Windows 7, Windows 8.1 is it ?

2:

How to install drivers for it to be compatible INF DRIVER .

3:

Do I install the 980m and later install Windows 8.1

Thank you very much for your help, I 've never done this procedure

Install using nv_whql.inf instead.

I recently installed a gtx 780 on a M18X r1, it is normal that the windows (8) detect as standard vga?

Correct, just disable driver signing before installing drivers -> nv_dispi.inf v350.05 below.

1- Win7 >Optimus<.

2- Install v347.90/sig.

3- BIOS -> UEFI (GPT) -> CSM/Legacy option ROM disabled -> Exit menu -> Save without exit -> Power Off -> Install 980M -> Install Win8.1.

Hi,

The 350.05 are working very well on my AW17 / GTX 980m / 4710mq / Win 8.1. I installed them without any trouble on the first try.

I wasn't able to install the 347.90, after several trials I had to reinstall my .88.

On 3DMark11, I score 10398 using the 350.05 and 9920 using the 347.88.

Thanks a lot.

No problem, did you use nvcvi.inf/Optimus?

Thank you so much for this. The driver installed fine on the first try on my R4. No black screens or any other problems it seems, Windows loaded fine the first try. GTX 980m does not seem to throttle on the first 3D mark Fire strike run, but 3d mark has problems validating the score online with this driver.I was also able to use the same clocks as with 347.88 (with your inf and some files from 346.xx driver). So far 350.05 is great, will need more testing in the actual games :)

Well done. nv_dispi.inf & stock files? Don't use v346.87 .sys/DLLs with this one.

Yes, I only used older dll and sys files with 347.88 drivers, all stock on this one except your modded nv_disp.inf

Hi,

I tried both using a clean install between each try.

The nvcvi didn't work as expected. I couldn't use my ext monitor and it crashed while running 3dmark 11. The nv_dispi is working fine.

Optimus/60Hz '05AA' model? I removed HD Audio, it should work now.

Hi there, I am also looking to install 780m sli in my M18xr1. Should I also start with the v344.75 as well?

Thanks in Advance.

P.S. Does it matter if I extract with 7-zip or WinZip?

Yep, try v344.75. WinZip should work fine

@J95 - This driver works normally at stock clock speeds, but has a SEVERE throttling problem when overclocked/overvolted with 780M SLI. I tried my own mod and yours also. Another garbage driver... thanks NVIDIA!
