M.2 Key M Sata or Pci-e. Help

Recommended Posts

Hello support.

I wanted to order a
”PE4C 4.1 KEY M for my laptop cause I don't want to remove the Wifi card.

I removed the back cover and checked: I have an M.2 key M for SSD, Will it work?

I read in other articles that there is a M.2 SATA and PCIE, I need the latter type for it to work!!

I wasn’t able to find more info about it in the documentations, I have a Hp folio 9480M.

Electrically it should work, but physically it may not.

I think the m.2 card is the longer than the hole in your computer. You may need an m.2 raiser card, or extender. As it is with the pe4c, it is nearly impossible to insert the screw securing the m.2 card due to the stiffness of the cables.

I will check this evening.

Is this any way to check generation and predictible number of lines my M.2 slot without buying whole adapter? I have DIY Setup 1.3 on one notebook but i want to check theoretical speed and profitability eGPU in other laptop.
